It’s not the tires’ fault. It’s the variety of surfaces and the sheer speed and bloodlust of the riding they saw. At least that’s what I heard.
My last set lasted a long time and looked normal when I finished with them.
This set, well, these are the tires on my bike now. Photos taken five minutes ago.

I think riding style has a lot to do with front tire wear, know several who put two rears on to a front, and a buddy of mine (ST1100) just shreds fronts, almost two to one the opposite way. Seems to be more how you approach going into twisties and curves. My fronts and rears usually wear out the same time, but I also run perhaps a little higher air pressure, 42 front 44 rear. That Yammy recommendation of 36 psi front just slays me.

I've worn my front to the wear bars on my last set of PR5 and appears to be the case on my second set. Never had that happen on any other tires ive run, sportbike or not. I think im a little heavy handed on the front breaks for a bike this heavy (fjr). Maybe that's some it. When my rear tire is gone, my front is also done. Bottom line, my go to tire at this time.

Re: Any report on the Road 5 GTs yet?
Question for you guys.
For someone like me that does a lot of flat land riding in a conservative manner. Which tire would be better the 4 or 5?
I have been running the PR4GTs. The rear tire always wears out in the middle. The sides still have plenty of tread. The front usually wears mostly right where the compounds change. There is still tread in the middle and on the extreme sides, but that transition area wears out, cups and feathers.
Are you guys finding the middle last longer on the 5 than the 4?

Today the Pirelli Angel GT Spec A's arrived. Holy smokes those are some damn stiff sidewalls. Going to need some heat to get them on using No Mar tire machine. I expect these will be more of a challenge than the Dunlop RS3. Don't tell Pterodactyl. Last year he called the RS3's the Devil's seed.

Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

I think I might just try the Angel GT2s....

The 4GT’sand the 5GT’s both were about even, for me, sharing the longest mileage spot in my book. That’s with mostly highway riding. They are also the best feeling tires I’ve run in the mountains, but obviously, hooning hard will burn up any set of tires.

Gosh I only got 6000 miles on my PR4s. I always thought it was the cheap sealed pavement - couldn't be me could it? Do I get to join the hooning club?bill lumberg wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 4:57 am The 4GT’sand the 5GT’s both were about even, for me, sharing the longest mileage spot in my book.
