Welcome from California! There may be a couple of gents headed your way later this year... bigjohnsd (North Dakota) and festar (Australia) so maybe you guys can meet up at some point depending on their plans and your availability.

Re: New guy from the East Coast of Canada
Welcome from south Louisiana!
You have quite a stable winterized at this time, no doubt. The imaginary red guy sitting on my right shoulder pokes at me to give that RD a try, but the white guy on the other side knows that this would not be a good idea.....
Tomorrow - sunny and high of 62 F - I'm going riding!!

Welcome to the forum. I have a DR650 as well and there is a long running thread on the forum titled What did you do to your dual sport today were you will find many of us talking dirt bikes.
Searching for roads paved with Asphalt, unless I am riding the mighty DR650 bushpig.

Re: New guy from the East Coast of Canada
Thanks for the warm welcome guys!!
@Hppants, I've spent some time in southern LA when I did some jobs in the Gulf. You guys have the weather now, but come May or Jun, I'd MUCH rather be here!! I really struggled when it got warm there!!
@fontanaman, I'm sad to admit that the DR has been terrible neglected the last few years with the other bikes in the stable (the DR was bike #1 for me). I'm going to be moving it back to my hometown later this year and it will live there where I will have a much easier time getting offroad!

Re: New guy from the East Coast of Canada
Good one Bob!! There are alot more trails and they're alot easier to get to in Cape Breton, so the DR is catching a lift next weekend.

Re: New guy from the East Coast of Canada
I put both of those off for a few years because of the price. Once you do it you won't regret it at all. The only part I regret about it was putting it off for so long. Good luck with your search, lots of options out there.
