Not everyone has voted for each photo. Some people never bother to make it back to voting, stressing the importance of getting your submissions in early. For some reason, I feel like I shouldn't have my photos in first out of fairness to the others who want to submit early. Looks like that may cost me this year.

Maybe next year, I'll open it up to entries for a set amount of time, then enable voting once all the photos are in for a 2 week period.
While I understand the post and vote early concept, perhaps it might be an idea to have all the submissions made before voting is opened up. That way everyone could peruse all the photos and vote accordingly..... or do folks go back and change their votes if a better one comes along? I'm OK the way it is, just throwing it out there.
That's what I'm talking about doing. While you can currently go in and change your vote, I doubt there are many who are doing this retroactively as new photos are added. It is evident that not everyone comes back to even vote as new images are added.

Your ranking is based on the number of votes as well as the rating each vote is given. When I first started this contest with Nighthawk Forums, it didn't see a lot of traction initially. The incentive was added to get more submissions in, up the activity, and ultimately increased sales. But even that wasn't enough and towards the end, it was a struggle to get a dozen decent images submitted.

The demographic has changed when moving from Nighthawks to FJRs for a variety of reasons. Getting submissions is no longer a chore, but getting people to continue to vote as submissions increase can be. I thought there would be more activity in this thread and on the forum from those who submitted later to encourage voting instead of just me. Collecting all the photos first and then enable voting eliminates that issue. It also makes sure photos don't suffer because they got sent to spam or I just dropped the ball on getting them posted. Everyone will be able to see that there photos are ready to go and there will be time to correct it before voting begins.

This is just a discussion for next year. It is an evolutionary process from year to year.

I never took any pics this year that I felt were good enough but I found two that were decent so I submitted them. As much as I would like to have one of my pics in the calendar, I am just as happy to see other folks entries that look better than mine. I figure that every one of us that gets one of these calendars is going to be a Winner this year. We have some Very Good pics to choose from this year and each year they seem to get better.

I considered submitting a picture of my wrecked 2007 from the accident at EOM with the caveat it must be used in a month that has a Friday the 13th.

I love the calendar thing and if I make it in great but it's very cool flipping that over each month and seeing a bike whose owner I can call a friend. Thanks for all of the hard work that goes into this!

SFO Rally Rally covered bridge! You got a 5-vote from me brother, partly because you're keeping quiet about jump-starting my FJR in the National Cemetery. (And that covered bridge was a LONG one!)

A shameless bump to encourage anyone that hasn't voted to do so, as I believe the contest ends today. Well over 1000 votes this year, that seems to be telling to our tight knitted group. We will have some new winners this year as well - most excellent. Congrats to everyone.

I have credit card in hand, ready to make my order....

Never have I been happier to not win a contest. I thought my pics were pretty good but so many entries were so much better that I am going to have a Fantastic Calendar to hang in my office. In fact I will need 3.

I will buy a couple as usual, one for me and one for wheatonJR. Outstanding photos...I appreciate y'all sharin with the class. I put that in front of my desk at work and use it for inspiration when things are intense around me and I need to be somewhere else.

Yes, "mine" hangs in the office between windows that look out above four or five dense apartment complexes and I-75 -- and reminds me that there are beautiful empty places on this continent.

"Uncle Hud's" calendar hangs in my bathroom at home, right in front of anyone who sits on the toilet. It gets a close look every morning.

Bought extras last year, and will again, to send to my two living brothers in hopes that they one day understand why I ride.

You probably didn't miss anything.

1) Any minute now ...
2) DesignFlaw06 will have a link prominently posted. They should cost less than $1,000,000, but we'll have to wait and see about that.

Guys, thanks for being patient. I've had a couple weeks of travel so I didn't get much time to work on things until late this week. I think I have the artwork finalized, but I want to take another look at it with fresh eyes in the morning. Make sure I have screen names spelled right and such.

Look for the official link to purchase to be posted sometime tomorrow. And yes,I'm planning on making the premium version available this year.

The wait is over! I hope you guys are happy with this year's result. We have a good looking product. There is a regular and premium version.

I've gone over this quite a few times and I think I have everything right, but I have mistakes before. For the first of you to look at it, please look over the preview to make sure there are no issues.

Not much I can do about that. Lulu is one of the few sites I found that allows me to setup a product page so everyone can order themselves and they were definitely the cheapest. Otherwise it would require much more work on my part to collect the orders, place a batch order at a printer, and then send all of them out individually.

If using Flash avoids that headache for me, that's a compromise I'm willing to make.
