I did pass a very slow moving jeep on a double yellow. That passing lane you speak of between the 2 yellow lines is small.

Well, I owe gixxerjasen an apology. He won some awesome reflective FJR bag stickers at last year's NAFO in Colorado. First thing he does is look for someone in need of them, as he was already set. The dude was on a mission, as most everybody was set. He saw poor Lucky(13) and hunted me down and offered them to me making sure I would use them. I said yes, and wow, and thanks so much!

Conundrum. Lucky does not get bathed much besides rainstorms. Many times I said to myself that I should give her a good cleaning. But instead I turned the key and went for ride therapy. What can I say, its been a rough year trying to prioritize cleaning the bike. So last week I cleaned the bike...and this week I put the gifted reflective bag stickers on. Baby steps. Thanks Jasen!

Brother wanted to go to the Triumph dealer - they had a demo ride day scheduled. He's zeroed in on their Tiger 900 Rally Pro. His current ride is a 2000 HD Electra Glide Ultra - hiding on the other side of my FJR below. He rode the Tiger 900 GT, which was as close to the 900 Rally Pro as he would get. He rode the Tiger 1200 to compare and is set on the 900. To fill time, I signed up for the Scrambler 1200. I was in line for the Tiger 900 GT and next up, until the rider in front of me returned and shared the said news that he had dropped the bike while out on the demo loop. It was removed from the demo fleet at that point. Insert sad face here.

Back to the Scrambler 1200 - wow. I was the 2nd or 3rd bike out of the lot - most everyone else there was lining up for the Tiger 1200 and the sport bikes. The dealership is on a fairly business section of 4 lane road. Significant throttle was needed to 'safely' enter the flow of traffic IMHO. My brother said I carried the front tire through the 1-2 upshift. Someone said, "now that's how you do a demo ride..." Throttle response was snappy in 'street' mode, brakes were sharp and suspension was 'squishy' - fairly soft. It's a bike I could see in my garage.

You are welcome sir. I'd wondered how they'd turned out. Looks awesome on there now, definitely an upgrade in visuals and safety. It's rare you can combine those two but that sure did it. Enjoy!

That thing will be hanging sideways most of the time while railing corners. Good thing it is on a gimble and the tumblers have a good sealing lid.

Whenever I rail sweepers, I make sure I have a nice calming soothing tumbler of JACK on ice handy.

Same here. Has been very dry, 25% of my lawn is bare dirt. But have had 5.80" the past 31 days so things are looking up. A week or so it was 1.6" for the past 31 days.

...Btw, I threw out my tank bag and many things in it today. Evidently a mouse decided to go in there and die awhile back. Unzipped the bag before going on a short ride with Junior and the smell of death spewed out of that bag. Looked inside and squirmy maggots everywhere. Saved my gps, something else, but threw away FJRiders cap, insulated gloves and glove liners. They all had juice of mouse dripping from them along with the plump squirmy maggots. I used that bag less than two weeks ago.

Nasty nasty nasty.

Ordered some new three season gloves (fall, winter, spring) from Racer, to replace the maggot infested gloves.

Next on the list: new warm and safe glove liners and a cap to replace the ill-fated FJRiders cap.

Oh man, that's some dangerous territory to tread into right there and requires some careful skilled navigation. So many ways that particular conversation can go very wrong. I've been married a long time and I'm not sure I would trust myself to navigate those waters.

Wish you'd have said something Wheatie. I have a brand new set of Racer Eska Gore Tex Pilot GTX. Followed their charts, Size L but slightly too small for me. Stupidly I stripped the tags off before I was sure they would work. Couldn't return them. Beautiful gloves, just a tad too small...
