TBS modification

I installed this homemade manifold to make performing a TBS much easier. It is aircraft grade tubing. It has held up for almost three years with no sign of drying or cracking. The black caps I have to seal them do dry out, so I replace them annually. Also included is a picture of how I position the tank to allow easy access to the throttle bodies.

Nice - can you add a link to sources for the hose you used?

Was thinking about doing something similar. Now I see a more refined process and better materials than I was going to use. Awesome post sir.

I take it you leave the orange manifold in place when you remount the tank? Or am I thinking the wrong thing and you just connect it when you do the TBS?

High temp silicone, I will look for more.

Mines been on since early 07, I've found those stupid caps years later.

Yes it stays on. It tucks in under the back flap of the insulation.

IF I ever do a TBS I may do it too. Haven't really seen the need yet, but one day, I'll do it just for the Hell of it. I'll make this manifold deal cuz I'll prolly f@$k it up the first time and have to go back in. Lol.

I love good ideas!!

But if yer really anal this isn't going to be accurate.. You have to have all tubes equal length.

No cool kids are gonna do this even though it's a splendid idea!

Can you explain how the length of tube will change the pressure?

Hey AJ,
I highly recommend doing the totally unauthorized TBS. I didn't think my bike could be any smoother and I was way wrong. Even if you don't have the manifold it still isn't very difficult to do. I'll even send you the carbtune if you want. Of course, you'll have to send it back!

It was free and it fit, I'll look for some to measure the ID. What I like is the thickness.
