Weeeeeeellllllllllll, hello boys and girls.
I probably don't need too much of an introduction, but I've been gone for a while. Too long, I'm afraid. On Christmas, ol' BustaNutJoker sent me a random text full of profanity. We have been catching up, and he told me about some of the members who have passed.
That made me decide I have been gone too long. It may seem dumb, especially to anyone new, but I have grown close to a lot of you clowns and I kind of miss all of you. Jeez, that's mushy, but the friends I have made here are 100% irreplaceable. So, I logged my lazy butt on and will get back into the swing of things.
Not a lot here has changed too much. We're enjoying our house and I do what I can to avoid going to Albuquerque. I still have my retirement job at this charter school, and I absolutley LOVE it! This place rocks, because I cannot be in a bad mood. The original guy I was here with moved to Utah, so we hired a guy I used to work with and eventually supervised when I had the Bike Unit. Super good dude, and he's having a blast.
A student asked me if I would sponsor a bike club with him, and I said yes. So, now, my partner and I ride our bicycles with 13 kids every Tuesday after school. It's a BLAST! I started with 2 kids and we're up to 13 in 8 weeks, so we're growing. Haha.
C and the girls and I built a big assed chicken coop, and have a decent flock of chickens. We sell eggs and I turned our property agricultural, so our property taxes went WAY down. Haha! Gotta say, I am tired of paying taxes.
Other than that, the kids are just growing up. My oldest is a senior at college and is graduating in December. Turns out the university has requirements for graduation, and vet school has different requirements for acceptance. So, she was either gonna take 21 hours of hard classes next semester or just complete a normal semester and then a light semester with 3 advanced classes. Sucks she has to do an extra semester, but she's gonna graduate debt free and then start vet school next fall.
Middle daughter is a high-school senior. She has been accepted to a couple universities and has two free rides offered. She is going into Music Education or whatever it is really called. She is the president of the school's choir program and is the top-rated soprano in the state. Kid has her shit together and is on a good path to do what she loves.
Youngest daughter is a sophmore and has been driving since June. Damn, I'm feeling old. She is in the same choir program and was convinced by the band teacher to take percussion in the band, her freshmen year. She rocked that out and is the Drum Major this year. Marching season is over and they're gearing up for different types of competitions. She's so into the band and choir stuff, she has laid off club softball, which has been a Godsend. The tournament schedule was killing us. She has said she's going to Music Education also.
They sang at Carnegie Hall in April and are loving the choir stuff. I'm glad they have plans.
Other than that, I've got nothing. May have a Forum visitor here in March, so that will be good. I have lots of days I can take off, since I don't use them, so rides should be easier. This school schedule ROCKS. My contract is 175 days a year. WTF?!?! That's not even half a year, and I get paid well. Haha. All the awesome breaks plus snow days. I should have done the school thing 30 years ago. Turns out, as mich as Cav is a goof, he knows what he's doing. Haha!
Anyway, I'll go jump in some conversations and try to do Wayne a huge favor and not start any shit! I can't promise, but retirement has actually had a great effect on me. I feel like I might be nicer now. Of course, that could just be gas. Haha!
