Going to E.O.M. from near Lake City Fla.
I'm thinking about riding Rt-441 to Rt 221 to Rt-17. Any info will be very helpful.

While I lived in FL almost my entire life I can't give you much advice on that route. 441 actually goes within a couple of miles from where I lived. I used it for local stuff but not to get out of state.

The real question would be for someone that knows GA. With the increase in population it might be too slow. I know in FL if you tried to take it through Orlando it would probably take more than a few hours. Might be the case in sections of GA.

Go around Atlanta. No matter what Google maps traffic shows. I think i took 27 North for most of my trips. It's boring as hell though. I spent some time at Ocean pond just outside of lake City. So.... I'm of no help at all.

Avoid Traveler's Rest, SC. Unless you have a real purty mouth and like to squeel. Then feel free to stop for a hike in the woods.

Unless I am in a hurry, my traveling style is 2 lane highways avoiding as many cities as possible. Open up the map and figger out what works for you. Avoid Travelers Rest, SC. Too many locals telling you how purdy yer mouth is, which I think is kind of odd.

avoiding city's is what i'm trying to do. I know it's backroads . You can do alright if you keep the left door closed.
I went all backroads from Max Meadows Va. to Flatwoods Wv. and loved it.
