Revzilla wants around $6.95 per screw for the four screws that hold the rider foot peg rubbers on. Partzilla is slightly less.
Can anyone recommend an alternative screw that should be up to this task? Or is the nasa criticality of this particular Yamaha screw worth $28 plus shipping.

Definitely insane.... 98501-05014-00. Looks like this part number can be deciphered... 5mm x 14mm long. Have you got any non-plastic windshield screws, they are a bit long and can be shortened.

My solution was socket head cap screws of Ray's length and thread. I had a helluvatime removing the 'phillips' screws, the next time vise grips made it easy.

I did the same thing. $0.50 a piece at the local bolt/screw store. Blue locktight on these for the install.
