The side wind deflector on the 2013 does not have glossy paint. Can you still apply the decal using the wet method? I don't think it would be fun to line up the decal using the dry method and being unable to move it around a little to line things up. Thanks in advance.

What are you using for "wet"? As a general rule, using the wet method works the same on all of it. However, we use an alcohol based product for wet applications so it evaporates quickly.
The wet just lets you float the adhesive, so it shouldn't matter if it's on matte or gloss paint underneath it.

50/50 mix of water and alcohol I believe. It should be in the instructions with the decals.

Yep - just went through this with s/b decals. 50/50 mix of alcohol and water.

I also spray the outside so the applicator slides better. If you didn't already know that...

My main concern was because the 2013 deflectors aren't real smooth like a glossy painted surface.

A good applicator...... a plastic body filler spatula with the fuzzy side of velcro applied to one edge. Works a treat.

HAHA, you gave my flash backs of when I attempted to install my deflector decals on my 2013 FJR dry. Long story short is they wound up smashed in a ball in the garbage can. I've had a replacement set of Real Time side panel decals sitting on my shelf for 10 years. I's still too traumatized to attempt installation.
PS, if you laughed at this story, I hate you. The failure still hurts.

I applied mine wet and they seemed to work great. Years later, the one side has developed small bubbles. Not sure what happened.
