2013 FJR

I'm looking for a 2013 FJR to replace my 2008AE. I hate to lose the AE because it is simply amazing. Since I don't have the opportunity to buy a Gen 3 AE, I'd have to settle for a Wheatie, Festus, ViperDad 2013. I think I may have located one in Upstate NY. I'll find out next week as the owner is out of state.

I'm traveling to Northern California in June and I'd like to have electronic cruise control. We'll see what happens.

I'd hate to lose the 2008 AE, but I might have to lose it to gain the Gen 3 cruise control. Trevor is not going to be happy because he loves the AE. So do I.

More to come......

Get the Ivan ECU flash to extend the Cruise to more than 80 mph. Not to mention improved engine management and an extra ride mode. (I'm not a gen III owner but I read stuff...)

Even if I do pick up the 2013, I'd probably still take the 2008 AE to South Carolina to 1911's memorial ride. I'd have so many farkles to transfer to the 2013 from the 2008 AE. It would be nice to have some help if anyone is available for assistance. Especially the transfer of the Helibar risers. Anybody free to visit my homestead?

Nothing like replacing a 15 year old bike with a 10 year old bike.

But is the '08 worn out? Maybe it's just a case of new girl hots. I get like that once in awhile.

The 2008 AE is wonderful. I just need electronic cruise control. Someone is going to end up with a beautiful 2008 AE at some point. Hi John! 🙂

Don't do it! You will just get grief from 2014 on up owners who will laugh at your puny 82mph limit on your cruise control! Seriously, if you want cruise control and that is important to you, you should reconsider. I don't ride on roads with that high of speed limits, and if I do, I just fecking hold the throttle like God intended if I want to cruise at 90mph or 100 mph. Jwilly hated the 13 because he couldn't go 130 mph through Arkansas with the cruise control lol...I didn't tell him that no cruise control goes that high because he just did a very nice thing for me.

...and if you really want to modify your 13 cruise, just get a 14. It already has the higher CC, and ABSOLUTELY no one will make fun of your bike's lipstick color.

There's the Ivan flash option of course. Simply swapping with a 2014 or 2015 ecu will do the same thing without the undesirable changes Ivan makes. And of course you can quickly slap a Kaoko throttle lock on it for the interstate high speeds.

The Ivan flash is what I had in mind. The 82 mph cruise limit is easy to overcome. My nephews over at Barnes Brothers might have a flash for the 2013 also. I'll have to check.

I'd like to have the cruise limit eliminated and keep the stock fuel maps.

What do you find undesirable about Ivan's flash for the 2013?

I'm about to relist my 13.

83Km (51,000 miles).

$7500 Cdn F.O.B igloomikfuktuk.
After the exchange, that's $5582 USD.

I don't know what's involved in importing into the US from Canada. I know the import the other direction is easy.

Thanks Steve. That's a great price. The one I'm looking at has half the miles of yours. I hope you're able to sell yours soon. Spring weather will help I'm sure.

There is a Mccruise option for your bike, pricey, but may be more affordable than a new bike. At least you get to keep the AE benefits.

Yes sir. Already looked into that option. Too pricey and I'll still have a 15 year old bike. Thanks John.

I rarely if ever use cruise at 80 mph.... don't sweat it. I'm not an interstate kinda guy.

Yeah, but then he'll be whining that he should have kept his 08!
