Passenger footpeg lowering options

Post by DesertBike »

Need passenger footpeg lowering, unfortunately it seems as if Wild Hair Accessories (whaccessories.com) is out of business - page says they're closed.

There's also www.bruudtcnc.de but they're on summer vacation this week and next.

Any other options? Perhaps there's a kit made for some other bike which nevertheless fits FJR passenger peg brackets?

It's for a 2015 FJR-1300ES BTW.

Thanks!

My wife has a bad knee. With std foot pegs, she could go about 60 miles max. I got some Blind Squirrel footboards…and she was able to ride all day with those as it allows the knee angle to open up some…AND it doesn’t lower your ground clearance.

Blind Squirrel is a member of this board…I don’t know if he still makes them, but hit him up for a pair!

She does want more platform-type footrests as well, vs. conventional pegs.

On my previous bike, a Vstrom DL1000, I crudely modified a set of KLR-style dirt bike pegs to fit the passenger brackets.

They didn't sit flat and the ball detents were nonexistent, but she found them more comfortable than stock pegs.

Maybe simply being able to slip her foot forward (and thus unbend knee a bit) w/floorboard style "pegs" would do the trick.

What do you have? Pretty sure she's still going to need lowering hardware but more platform-like "pegs" would sure help.

We also tried having her sit against the top case (Shad 58x) instead of Sargent backrest. That helped a bit. Knees less bent since she was sitting a few inches farther back.

What do you have? Can you post a photo please?

I see you're in Canada, so the shipping cost is likely to kill the deal. Might as well have a look though.
