Just checking in from Idaho

Hello all. Just picked up a 1-owner 2013 with 23,XXX miles on the clock about 2 weeks ago. Traded in a 2019 Africa Twin DCT. I rarely found myself in the dirt so I let it go. Been diving deep in the forums and have gotten a ton of good information already. I would post some pics but....is there a way to just put up something from my computer that doesn't have a URL?
The bike was mostly stock but I have adding bits to make it mine.
Garauld highway pegs
Givi rear rack (V47 on the way)
Denali license plate tail/brake lights
Tech Spec tank pads
T-Rex frame and fork sliders are in the mail
Heli Bars bridge riser
Cheers!
Dankly

Hello from Texas. I've seen your local riding area, so I already hate you.

Welcome.
My 2013 has treated me well.
There is a recall on the brake switch. I have never had an issue in 75k miles. Dealer has the part so I will get it done some day.
They are good bikes!

Welcome, you'll need to upload the pix to somewhere, then include the link in the post. But, i believe you need to have 5 posts to be considered 'live' and can do stuff like that.
Anyway, i rode through northern Idaho a few years ago, lovely country, so say the least.

I must have missed this way back.... welcome!
I love riding Idaho, planning to be there next summer. Maybe put a location in your profile...
I see you have fork sliders coming.... purely decoration, those will never touch if the bike goes down..... you choice of course.

I quickly realized that about the sliders once I got them installed. Farkling is my second favorite thing about getting a new bike and I got a little carried away with what I COULD do. Not as much thought put into what I SHOULD do.
The FJR has been scratching my LD riding itch quite nicely. Did an SS1000 and a BB1500 within the first 2 months of having the bike (still waiting on cert for BB). I liked it so much that I also did a Scooter 1000 Gold on my 2019 Honda PCX 150
Next plan is a Border to Border, I-15 End to End and a BBG all nested together. Now I just need the weather to warm up.
Cheers!

That's funny. I thought the first word was going to be something different.

Welcome from Washington.
Since you are talking about LD rides, if you have an inkling to do any rallying or grand tours, there is a West Coast 66 around Memorial day that starts and ends in Pasco. They are still trying to fill it up. You can sign up here at
https://rides.jasonjonas.com/ and check out the rally here at
https://westcoast66.com/
Root around on the rides.jasonjonas.com site and you will find many others too. There is also a PNW Grand Tour that takes place 4/1 to 9/30 that will set up some great rides to go to. And many of us do the Hour of Honor
https://www.tourofhonor.com/ that runs from 4/1 - 9/30 also.
I am riding the WC66, LDX, Tour of Honor and PNW GT this year two up for all of them. It's a great way to see things that you probably never would have known about or ridden to.

The PNW Grand Tour has an event in Idaho too this summer. You might check that out too.
