Introduction to the forum
I purchased new to me a Yamaha FJR 1300 2014 Red with 17,000 miles back in February of this year and absolutely love it. I have since put almost 14,000 miles on the FJR here in Middle Tennessee and beyond. I started looking for a sport touring bike since moving to Middle Tennessee because I kept dragging my pegs on the VTX and kicking my feet out from underneath of me. My journey began by trolling the forms and reviews of the sport touring bikes. It came down to the FJR and K 1600. I decided on the FJR because of their rock-solid reliability and the looks of the Gen 3. I couldn't be happier with my decision. My previous Honda’s spoiled me with reliability. Gas, Oil, Tires and Ride her like you stole her.
I was rear ended back in November on my VTX 1800, so my search began in earnest. I needed the 14 because I wanted my FJR to be red. It took me a couple months but in February, I found her in West Arkansas for a great price.
Since purchase I have completed the usual service required like replace all the fluids, three oil changes, new set of tires Bridgestone T31 GT (41 PSI F/R) and a second back tire. Rear tires only last about 6,000 miles till bold, got to love sport mode! Like I said rider her like you stole her. LOL
Farkles: Heli Bridge, Sargent Seat, Two Brothers Exhaust, Yamaha Tour Windscreen, Yamaha Touring Trunk, and Ram XL Quick Grip.
Thanks for all the great information in this Forum!!

Rock solid reliability. That's what you want when you're 1,000 mile from nowhere and you start heading home.
