What are my options?
I see MC Enterprises has closed so no more canyon cages

T-Rex sets the standard these days. The bag guards from my 2014 are now on my 2018. R&G frame sliders worked great, but I switched to t-Rex engine guards and have been pleased with them.
All the items above have been tested by events, with zero damage to the bike.

Another
T-Rex Racing user. The front guards went on perfect, one rear had a slight misalignment but went on ok. The only thing I would mention is that with dropped passenger pegs there is increased difficulty for the passenger to get on and off. Looks are a personal taste, I'm a function over form type person but don't find the guards to be so ugly.

I can swear by T-Rex. Tested them purely for the benefit of riders here.
Edit: Never mind. I have a Gen 3.

Ionbeam,
Are you saying the bag guards are in the way of the passenger?

Only getting on and off, and it's not a serious problem. Bear in mind, our bike has dropped passenger pegs and we are no longer young, trim and beautiful
Once onboard my passenger is just fine.
I'll add an unsolicited comment about our V47 Givi Monokey trunk. Even without a back pad it sits too close to the seat. I made two aluminum bars that were drilled and tapped to work as set-back brackets which moved the trunk 1.75" back. It doesn't sound like much but it made a huge difference in our seat spacing.

Great information.
This may answer my next question.
Will the Givi mount on my Gen 2 fit the 18 or will i need a new bracket?
It looks like it will fit

Louanne found that the TRex bag guards intrude less into the passenger boot space than the MC Enterprise ones I had previously. We didnt lower the rear footpegs, but used the BlindSquirrel foot boards. Made all the difference for Louanne to be able to open up her left knee that was injured years ago.
Edit: I hVe a Givi V46 on my 13. But again, its a Gen3 so buyer beware.

Gen2/3/4 seats and rear racks the same. Move the Givi.

My wife didn’t like the lowering brackets. But she loves the footboards. Game changer for her. But it’s not a gen 3, so there’s that..
T-Rex bag guards are ergonomically transparent for her. No interference at all.
