Fencer,

You can call the Yamaha mothership directly (1-800-962-7926), give them the VIN,
and they will check to see that all factory recalls are done for your bike.

Just kidding. Looks real good in person.

What has there been for any in a long time? The 2016 has an issue with attempting to start with ignition key not fully in 12:00 o'clock generates a CEL which requires an OBD-2 scanner to clear.

Thinking back I don't remember a single recall on my 2013.

If there was one I missed it.

Do later model FJRs have many recalls?

There weren’t any on my 14. None so far on my 18. A bunch of bike surfing tards like us would have dissected and regurgitated any recall ad nauseum.

The last FJR recall was 2011. The front brake switch would not turn on the rear brake light. It was caused by a defective switch which was installed on some bikes over a period of a few months. Previous to that was 2009 for the ignition switch and ground connector.

In 2013 there was a technical service bulletin for the check engine light.

I am only aware of the TSB for the Check Engine issue with the 2016, solved by with a reflash by the dealer.

Well, we have missed a most excellent opportunity to f@$k with Fencer. Couldn’t someone have dreamed up a list of four or five ridiculous recalls?

In a way, I’m disappointed.
