Greetings.
Found riding naked gave me too much of a sunburn. Now I at least wear a jacket and helmet.
Lots of kidding around on this site....also the answers to most FJR questions.

Welcome to the forum. Lot's of FJR smart folks out here. Many of them even know stuff beyond the FJR but watch out! :D

The FJR is the only Sport Touring motorcycle from Japan routinely updated by the manufacturer. Honda ST1300 nada, Kawasaki Concourse not updated routinely either and Suzuki was never in the market unless one considers the Bandit a Sport Touring machine. BMW is the only other game in the Sport Touring town and I know vot's good for me, the FJR.

Personally I have had two FJRs accumulating 110,000 in ten years with nary a problem. The FJR is easy to work on too. Anything newer than 09 is great as the suspension after 09 was even better. Starting in 13 FJRs have cruise control and other good things. Speaking of suspension if you know suspension and are particular about suspension get an A model then spend the coin on after market suspension. I am not a big fan of Yamaha's ES aka Electronic Suspension. There is a thread on that around here somewhere. :D The ES is designed for comfort and convenience and works relatively well. If you have experience with performance suspension you will appreciate the A model with after market suspension. We will fall all over ourselves helping you spend your money.

Anyway welcome from Spokane Washington.

Welcome. Typically, riders put on a custom seat and handlebar risers.
