Hello All,
For those that have installed a PDM60 fuseblock, I have a question. I installed it in my 2018 A, all went well. However, when I went to use my electric liner today, the PDM60 kept "blowing its fuse" until I reset it. I tried a different jacket and the same thing. Everything else off the PDM60 works fine. The circuit I am using is set at 15 amps. Does anyone else run their heated gear off a PDM60?

The only think I did differently is I kept the inline fuse on the original wire that is used with the jacket. Would that cause the PDM60 to kill the juice? Before I had the PDM60, I had the heated gear hooked up to the battery and all was fine.

Any thoughts?

The PDM60 wouldn't even know if there was an in-line fuse - couldn't possibly make a difference. Put an ohmmeter on the jacket liner to make sure there isn't a dead short in it or in the plug. If the jacket and plug are proven to be OK then there is an issue with the PDM60. Mis-programmed or screwed up somehow.

I do not have a fuse block installed, though I’ve considered it. For my heated gear, I cut the coax plug off the end, and stripped about three inches of insulation from the wires. I have the rubber removed from my right foot peg. The ground wire goes to the right peg, then I put my foot down to hold it there. I fish the positive wire between the tank and the fairing, moving it around until I can either feel the gear start to get warm, or until the gauges start acting funny. Slap some tape on the wire against the tank to hold it in position, and it’s time to ride. #YOLO.

Jacket liner should only take about 5 amps... I suspect you have a problem in the liner or the controller.... assuming the PDM60 is good but maybe it's reading 1.5 amps not 15? Try a setting like 7.0 and see what happens.

Update......I reset the PDM60 to default settings which would put the circuit I'm using for the heated gear to 15 amps. All is working correctly. I must have reset the setting when I last used the PDM60 on another bike. Thanks for the responses and esp. Ray.
Bill, I tried your way first, but everytime I put my foot down the wire would come loose!! So I went with Ray's advice.

Dave in sunny Mass. It's 68 degrees today, but we all know living in New England this is just a tease as we still have three more months of winter.

I took Bill's method a bit further, stripped 4" off, twisted it a bit and used a zip tie to hold it. That let me steer the bike with my feet so I had both hands free to play with the postive end.
