Helibars User Poll

For those of you that run helibars/helibridge, what position are your bars in? List height and inseam if you wish.

Full forward, 6'3", 34" inseam. Wide shoulders so needed the wider bars. Would like them back and up even more but was huge improvement.

5'8" and 30" inseam. Got their triple-tree when I bought my RDL seat.

I see you are getting some good data here Mr. Lumberg. It shows that to each his own, and for whatever their body type is.

You’re just mad I didn’t post my wintertime poll about what folks use to attach their orthopedic traction device to their bike.

Seriously- you’re entirely correct about the results.

I can't vote twice but Pop and I are both running the HeliBar Bridge. Oddly, while Pop had the same setup on his '07 and wanted it set roughly in the middle position, he wanted his new bike set all the way forward. I did as he asked but on our last trip he was really hurting. I moved his bars back to about the middle position, possibly a bit back and he was instantly more comfortable.

I had mine all the way forward but moved them back to the middle before my last trip. I think old age and a lack of exercise has made my changes necessary.

So, both of the FJRs I maintain are set at roughly the center position.

I spent probably the first year on the ‘14 with them all the way back. And it felt fine. The bike was a big “new normal”, and the bars were good. Over time, I began to mildly dislike the severe (to me) wrist angle induced by having them all the way back. Moved them to the middle and I was immediately pleased
In addition to a neutral angle, steering felt lighter.
