Aux light brackets needed.

On the Eastern Maiden Voyage, we were buzzing around some curvy, but bumpy roads in the Adirondacks and I noticed my right side light getting a little saggy. I pulled over and immediately noticed the bracket was failing. Image
(This is after I pulled it off and got home).

Anyway, I need a new solution.

This is the second fail of the old brackets that were gifted to me. Frost the left side and now the right. I ordered a new one last time and it still looks okay. But so did my old one before I left. Apparently the lights are too heavy and I need a solid solution.

I really like the current brackets form and function, but they are not sturdy enough obviously. Who sells them and how can they be “beefed” up?

Thanks

I think Garuald makes some... Also, Clearwater, but Garauld's are probably more "economical"

Cav, a simple gusset welded would solve this. Do you have a metal shop at your school or a local welding guy could fix these.

Confirming this is the bracket for the lights you have mounted high on the mirror (supported by the front stay)? I've got a "fork mount" bracket for a light, if that is what you need.

Failing that, I agree with Full House. Gusset both brackets, spray paint them, and you are done with it. You'll need a tig welder, I believe, as a mig machine won't work very will with that thin metal.

What lights do you have? I'm asking because I've been looking at lights and taking the mirror mounts into consideration as well.

Nate,

Here is what I have.

https://ledrider.com/shop/?model_number=LX40

They put out quite a bit of light. They seem very well built and have good pigtails for installation.

This company also gives a decent discount for FJR peeps.

Hope that helps Nate.

Hey Cav did you ever find a set of light brackets? Just wondering what ever came of this.

Yeah. NTXFJR came through like a champ. Already mounted them on and adjusted. I moved them inboard a little in an attempt to mitigate any undue vibration. Next step is to try them out on a night mission.

What type of metal is it? If it is just made from some mild steel, I can TIG weld it back together for you and add a gusset. You pay shipping to/from, and paint them when they get back to you. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Okay, I am a little slow on this process. See other thread and conversation PM started.

I got a set that will be just fine for you after I get it repaired. Let me work out the details.
