Hi, I took the screen name from close to where I live.
My name is John and I live near Boston.
In December I picked up a new to me 2005 Fjr with 28k on the clock.
No history on this bike. The person I bought it from only had a year. (so in I went)
28,000mi service. Just now getting it all back together.
I drive Class A truck for a living. (30 years)
Looking forward to chating with like minded people.
Peace
John

Will do.
I may need to pick your brain about going a southern rt through Pa.
I'm going to Celina,Oh. in June and are thinking of a way to go. South of I-80.
I have crossed Pa twice north of I-80.

Hi from southern NH. There are ~20 FJRiders that go places and do things together in some mix of riders. One thing we do well is RTE (Ride to Eat). We also do rides like Covered Bridges rides in the fall and regional things as NERDS (New England Rider Doing
Shit Stuff) on weekends centered from Lebanon NH and Stowe VT. This year NERDS may move the event more out to the NY area.
If you are interested I can forward some of the local ride information to you.
Alan

Boston, Your route looks fine. I looked up Celina, OH. I don't think you'd want to go South of Pittsburgh to get to your destination. There are a few Ohio guys on here who could assist with a route once you get to the Ohio border. Just be safe and enjoy the ride.

Welcome Boston, from a guy who spent two years in Charlestown, then wised up and returned to the southland. I miss the sailing, but it wasn't worth living through the coldest winters ever.
Make sure to drive through Centralia, PA, where the coal mine has been on fire (underground) since 1962.
By the way, with a seat modification, your FJR and you can go MUCH farther than 600 miles in one day.

Let me make a correction.
"By the way,
If you un-tuck your dick and balls from between your thighs, your FJR and you can go
MUCH farther than 600 miles in one day.
Welcome to the forum Boston, and I hope you enjoy one of the best motorcycles and group of people.

I have been going to Celina with my RoadStar Clinic group for about 7yrs now.
I did my return trip two years ago in one shot. Stop for gas and pee. 18 hours. I can go all day with my RoadStar. (not a stock seat)
I take motel about a full day ride. Then do the rest by 1 or 2pm. the next day.
Only when I can trust the Fj will I ride long Haul.
