Pulled the trigger

2013 on order, now the waiting game begins!

Started off at Redding Yamaha Seadoo this am with an offer of around 5% off MSRP cash. They come back with full MSRP plus tax tag and license and and extra $50 or so just for good measure. I thank them for their time and as I am walking out the door they give me the old we want to be your dealer for life spiel. They tell me that if I can find one for less, bring in written documentation and they will match it. That and I will be a star member for life with and automatic 10% off accessories for life. Seems to me, that if they wanted to be my dealer for life, they would have worked just a little harder at it instead of letting some one else genuinely earning my business so they could take it away from them. This is kind of how I pictured things going at this dealer.

So, I head south 30 miles to Red Bluff Yamaha, and talk to the only salesman besides the owner, Adam. They have a discounted '12 on the floor if anybody is interested. I tell Adam that I am after a '13 and he heads to the computer to start looking. I don't throw out any offers and after a few minutes he comes back with just a touch over my offer to Redding Yamaha. Not even worth throwing out a counter offer. Shake the mans hand and off to the bank for a deposit check. They are looking for a dealer trade or ordering the bike Monday. For you Nor Cal folks, I really can't say enough about Red Bluff Yamaha (and I HATE going to the dealer)

Guess I am calling Ryan at MC enterprises Monday for a set of Canyon Cages.

BTW, Thanks Richard for giving up your bike for 3 weeks so they could work out the product.

How many days till Christmas????????

Oh yea, they also have a Super Tenere on the floor that Adam says they will let go for a really smoking price

Congratulations to you Gregory, if there ever was a Goat Fecker truly deserving a 2013 FJR it is you My Friend! I thought that I would never get rid of my 2003 Miss Lucy Liu FJR, then I rode over to SoCal to see Fairlaner's. The 2013 is so much better than all other editions of Yamaha FJR 1300, it made it so damn easy to pull the trigger on my 2013 Naomie Harris!

Thanks Don,

I really loved my '03 but just had to update. The Redding stealer did have a '13 on the floor when they first came out (VIN # 49) and I knew it would not be long before I had one. Looking forward to the new girl.

Congrats Greg! You work your ass off, and deserve it as much as anybody I know. Be safe and ride up here some day so I can see a '13. I'll buy lunch this time.

Thanks buddy!

Being a government employee, working my ass off, that's comic gold right there!

But, on the other hand,

Being a government employee, your damn straight I'll take the free lunch!

Since Rick now has a '10, I think we need some Nor Cali/Southern OR juants this summer.

Joe,

Looking forward to seeing you and Cec, are you bringing T? You are bringing some form of two wheels, right? Tons of great roads in OR, been over quite a few up there. You guys are always welcome here. Great roads and trails to explore and the coast is only 3 hours west. Congrats on the retirement, I know you worked hard to earn it, but like SPU, I am still jealous as hell! At best, I still have at least 21 years to go.

To the OP: congratulations!

To Don: Lucille (the FJR formerly known as Miss Lucy Liu) is, once again, Queen Bitch of the Garage. Her only complaint these days is having to look at Rose's wide ass, since Rose spends most of her time on the battery tender....

Good for you! Nice to know Red Bluff has a good dealer, headed over there next weekend on the Katoom to play in the Trinity Alps. Nothing but curves for 3 days, oh yeah!

I was sadly, PB&J free all weekend, but I did put on 640 INCREDABLE mile on the backroads with some very good friends (missed ya, SPU! passed both Emu and Lama farms, you could have tried out the "BBW of the bovine world") in southern Oregon. No pics, but if I remember correctly, it did happen. All I can say after owning each generation, gen III ROCKS

Congratulations, Gregory. Gorgeous motorbike.
Springtime in Northern California, …with a brand new bike. What the HELL could be better than that?
