Hello fellow FJR riders, wanted to introduce myself to everyone and get started on this forum. I live in the upstate of SC and spend most of my time in the western NC mountains, if any fellow riders care to ride sometime just let me know. Normally I ride from sunup to sundown taking breaks every 2 hours or so, looking forward to seeing some of the topics on the forum and possibly riding with a few other FJR’s.

Welcome - there's a few members here that are in your area - there's a local ride thread here that WheatonFJR posted you might want to check out.

Welcome Tommy - Wheaton is in Travelers Rest, I'm in Greer, Eric Boutin is in Boiling Springs, Duane (1911) is in Laurens. There are a few others. Wheaton (Mark) is organizing a ride on August 26th I think. Check the thread here.

Welcome Tommy!
Tell us a little bit about yourself: what trips you've taken on the FJR, what other bikes have you owned, etc.

Welcome, Tommy.... I don't know why you ride around there so much, all the roads are kinda flat and boring, LOL.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, just gonna give you a little info about me. I have lived in the upstate all my life, the majority has been in Travelers Rest. I bought a Suzuki VX800 in my early 20's and rode it around town for a few years yet never got serious into riding so I sold it after about 5 years. Two years ago after sitting around a campground checking out my brothers Instagram, I got the urge to ride again and actually travel to places and enjoy some away time. Well since my brother had a Concours 1400, I called and got some advice from him, he pushed me towards a FJR. Well I found one in Maryville, Tennessee for a nice price that was perfect and was taken care of very well. I had someone drive me up there and we checked it out, bought it, then rode it home down the Foothills Parkway thru the Dragon and down HWY 28 back home. Since then I have been on the Cherohala, Dragon and BRP multiple times, over Roan Mountain, Blood Mountain(my personal favorite) multiple times and two trips to Lynchburg Tennessee for the Jack Daniels BBQ festival. I have rode to St. Augustine for a nice weekend and multiple 300 plus miles day trip in the western NC mountains. I finally broke down and bought a new 2018 FJR this late winter and planning my first Ironbutt ride along with a trip to New York early fall. If there is anyone wanting someone to ride with them just let me know, I try to ride at least once every three weekends and try to spend all day riding and seeing to different type of things in this world.

Tyler speaks the truth, Tommy. No better way to meet many of the inmates here.

Welcome to the group of MisFits!!
Soon enough you will figure out which ones are the Mis and which ones are the Fits, it's all part of the hazing ritual. I would provide a list of the Mis's but I don't have that much time, but will say one has posted on this thread so far.....and it isn't Tyler.
Oh and if you see a sheep at a gathering..............maybe it will be best to let you see for yourself.

Welcome! When you want to ride on a road without those pesky and irritating curves and hills..a real road where you can see where it goes limited only by the curvature of the earth..then come to the prairies!

Lived there for 50+ years...I have not as much need for that as Tommy might. There can be a certain beauty to wide horizons and open sky...
...but only for so long.
