Does anyone out there have a similar tool that MCL offers as a loaner tool tool to drill out the security screws on ignition switch.
I have MCL risers on my bile and want to take them off and move over my other bike. I cannot seem to get in contact with MCL anymore even though web site is up and running. I tried to call and also sent email that got got bounced back.

This is tool I am talking about: http://www.motorcyclelarry.com/index.ph ... cts_id=236

No jig, but are you sure there are security screws [bolts] securing the ignition switch? Many installed normal socket-head hex when swapping the clamp. Drilling off the bolt head isn't that big a deal. Carefully center-punch the head, a couple sharp bits and you're done.

Good luck!

Dealer did swap for me and other bike is still factory so I'm sure both have security screws installed.

I'm with G, fixture not required, center punch them, drill carefully and replace with socket head hex screws.

When I installed my Heli-Bar riser, this is what I did. With the top clamp off, I drilled or ground out the fastener head, removed the ignition, then removed the remain portion of the fastener with a set of vise grips. Reinstalled with standard fastener hardware.

I used a reverse twist bit in the drill, they came right out.

It would be tough to do with the riser attached in any way to the bike, at least for me. If you have (access to) a drill press, drilling the bolts out would go a LOT smoother.

When I changed out my ignition switch I just used a center punch, cordless drill, and easy out. Did all the work in my lap sitting on a low brick wall. No drill press needed, lap work guarantees careful work.
