Stumbling in the side door...

Hey, everyone! dsmack here, former '06 FJR owner who finally looked at his poor Feejer lying (once again) on it's side and said to self, "Self, it's time to put a stop to this foolishness and admit your stubby little 28" legs just ain't cutting it!"... and this was with poor old girl lying in my own damn garage, where my foot had slipped on a slippery spot from cleaning the swarf off the lower parts with spray wax!
So I fixed the buggered mirror (once again) and sold it to a nice fellow who had enough leg to safely and happily ride it. Bought a Suzuki 1200 Bandit as replacement, and put many happy miles on it in the next couple of years. Finally had the chance to move back up to an injected bike when I bought "Holeshot" Dale Walker's development 2011 Suzuki GSX1250FA... Life is good again!
Sitting here this Spring waiting for the strange E Washington weather to make up it's mind that Spring really is here, and started idly digging around on old websites, just looking to see how long-time residents of both this and the "other" FJR sites have been doing. It is good to see so many familiar names here, while at the same time realizing how many of my favorites from years past are now deceased, may they RIP!
I'm finding there IS life after shaft drive and excellent hard side cases! I ride the 1250 with a 45L topbox and have learned to minimize clothing and necessities to the point that works just fine with an additional tail bag strapped to the pillion seat as needed for more extended trips. I've found that the brand of bike isn't really important, as long as you have the chance to get some bugs on the faceshield!
So, good to see you all here, and will be dropping in from time to time.
