I should have stayed away from the stay.

A broken stay, that I’m trying to replace while on vacation, is kicking my ass! Damn, the number of nuts and bolts is beyond ridiculous.

It’s funny, but when I do stuff like this, I realize why dealerships charge so much...sheesh.

Got the stay and windshield bracket back on, and called it a day. I put the bolts and retainers in marked envelopes, and took photos, but this will still be tough. I'll let you know how many pieces are left over. :D

I was going to tell you that is no way to spend a vacation.

Then I remembered I spent most of my vacation in the hospital, so don't take my advice.

Rob, you need to get that bike fixed. We need to get the gang back together for a ride soon.

LKLD, did you save the broken stay? There is someone on the forum who is designing 3d objects with a printer and I suggest that he do a stay.
The entire stay is too complicated, but the piece that broke off might be doable.
I’ll tell him about your topic and maybe you can send him the broken piece.

So is the framing hammer required for this type of disassembly? Or does it just speed it up?

Those 2 bolts, that hold the stay to the frame, needed some...help.

Unless it's a 2x4, then they miss every time.
