OK, I'm really sorry for the delay. I've been trying to get stuff sorted with the forums and this contest. It simply took way too long to get the changes and the necessary people involved. But things should be good to go now. Hopefully there aren't too many kink, but be patient if there are.
Calendar Contest
You can also get to it from the main page.
Voting Rules
1) Vote fairly! This contest is meant to be fun and a benefit to our FJR community. Any attempts to sabotage the contest will result in disqualification and/or ban from the contest and forum.
2) Voting is a 5 star system. Click on the highest star you want to award. Rankings are a combination of rating and number of votes.
3) This is an FJRiders member calendar, not specifically an FJR calendar. You may see pictures of other bikes. Award stars based on what you feel is calendar worthy and what criteria you feel an entry should meet.
4) Submissions are sent to
motorcyclecalendar@gmail.com and make sure to send the high resolution picture. One submission per member. Pick your best one!
5) You may only vote for each image once. If you accidentally vote incorrectly or have additional questions, contact me at
motorcyclecalendar@gmail.com or PM DesignFlaw06.
6) Anyone submitting a photo automatically grants permission for the FJRiders.com staff to use the photo in any FJRiders.com or FJR-related applications.
7) Contest ends December 10th. Pictures may be submitted til then, but rankings are determined by a combination of score and total number of votes. Get your submissions in early so you can receive more votes.
Let me know if you guys have any issues. I've got 5 pictures up so far.

Contest ends December 10th. I'll have something ready to order a couple days later. First place gets a free calendar.
You can submit up until then, but rankings are determined by a combination of score and number of votes. It helps to get your submission in early.

Is this one picture per person or can someone post 2-3 pictures?

One picture submission per member. I just updated the rules. Maybe next year, I'll allow for more than one. Bottom line is that it took too long to get this up with all of the delays getting the hosting, domain, and other garbage sorted out. Because of that, I don't need to make things more difficult on myself.

Alan, please post a picture of the ions shooting out of the back of your FJR...that would be pretty cool.

I can't engage ion propulsion until atmospheric pressure drops below 10
e-12 Torr and gravity approaches zero. At that point ion drive can achieve a significant fraction of C.

Size of the photo? MBytes, but also inch x inch dimensions?

The higher the better. The final resolution is 2300x1800 so you've got to exceed those dimensions with your submission. If you have trouble emailing, we'll figure something else out.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Please make sure to include your username in the email. While I can usually figure it out, I shouldn't have to. Bike and photo descriptions are also encouraged.

I had a couple that didn't meet the resolution requirements. I've been busy working on the site that I haven't had time to go through mine, so there will be at least one more.
We didn't have an issue getting enough submissions last year so I'm hoping more come my way soon.

I don't want to be a jerk about this, but I'm going to enforce the resolution rule. The recommended setting is 300 DPI and I've already decreased it to 200 DPI. When I go lower than that, the calendar manufacturer starts throwing warning messages at me when creating the image.
Here's the other thing to consider. When you upload photos to the cloud, most of the time they reduce the file size. Perfectly fine for viewing on Facebook, but printing a 8.5x11 image just doesn't work. Google Photos and Facebook for sure do this. I suspect other sites also do as well. I'll take submissions all year long, so if you have an image you like, send the original to me and I'll deal with the storage issues. You can do that anytime.
One the resolution is gone, there is no getting it back. Don't sacrifice a quality photo.

DON'T reduce the resolution! A good photo can be ruined by printing in low-res.
And I'm still looking for the high-res version of my submission .....

I just got it posted along with Hppant's submission. That makes 13, so it is officially a contest now!
May the best pictures win.
I'm working on the code to get the rankings displayed. That may take a couple days since I'm swamped. Keep the votes coming!
