bike died sitting at a light

On the way to the store tonight , my 05 fjr just cut off. All dash lights, headlights and horn etc.. dead.
Managed to put it in my truck and get it home. After much fighting, I got the glove box open (a pain with no power)
I checked all the fuses in the left fuse box, the main 50 amp by the battery , and the 15 amp on the solenoid.
Battery checks at 12.9 v and grounds ohm out at 0.1 .
I checked the positive to the starter solenoid and it reads the same as the battery.I am quitting for the night , but I'm off tomorrow and will
continue then.
I have the Yamaha manual and will go back through the wiring schematics in more dept tomorrow. My question is are there any hidden or less obvious
fuses I am overlooking?
As luck would have it, I just filled the tank today, so I will have to siphon it out to remove the tank tomorrow as well.
Sorry for the long post, but I know the more info, the easier to trace the problem .

Have you checked to see that you are getting power through the ignition switch? With no power anywhere that would be my first suspect. Have you done any recent wiring or maintenance that involved disconnecting and reconnecting anything?

To and to what Bob said.... Check every connect that you touch if you just added a farkle It's happened to me that something in the same area unrelated sort of gets unpluged or connector pulled enough to not make good contact. And recheck those battery posts

twowheelr, I would bet money that Bob and Tom are exactly right that you are dealing with a connectivity issue in your FJR's electrical system. Ignition switch and battery posts are the principal suspects and the easiest first items to start checking out!

When Wheatie and Karl came out to Kali and I rode over to Fairyland to meet them, up in Bodega Bay my 2003 Gen 1 was giving me fits and it turned out to be both the switch and posts!

Well, good news, bad news.
It wasn't a fuse it is the ignition switch, as soon as I drill out the safety screws, I will try to inspect the contacts.
Are they sold separately?

Wasn't there an ignition switch recall? It might just be Gen II.

Ignition switch recall was Gen II only.

If you need to use the bike while waiting for a new switch you can wire in a toggle switch temporarily.

Also, you may be able to clear the problem by spraying some contact cleaner into the switch and working the key back and forth to clean the contacts.

If the contacts do turn out to be burnt rather than just dirty, I would like to know what kind of farkles you have that may be drawing additional current through the switch.

It turned to be a bad solder joint on the red wire inside the ignition. I resoldered the connection and checked the others.
I didn't have any direct loads added to the main harness. I added a 30 amp relay and terminal strip for my GPS, heated gloves, and radar detector, plus the temp gage and voltmeter , so no large loads on the ignition. I'll ad a pic later.

So it won't be all bad,I'm doing plugs,sync and ripping out the air plumbing while it's down.
I'm at 25,000, so its due. I think the valves can wait another month or 2.
I have new tires here already and the rear is not quite to the wear bars. I think I'll do the valves then.
