06 fjr electrical issue

Hey all,
Just had the bike out for one of my first spring rides. I stopped at the store for the wife and when I started the bike back up all the light indicators were glowing. Both turn signal indicators and high beam indicator on at once but not bright. It did not make a difference what position the high beam switch was in the light was still on. Headlights out. I asked someone if my brake light worked and they said yes. All my turn signal bulbs were on and just glowing. Bike started and ran fine. Anyone else experience anything like this?
Thanks, Scott

Ground spider junction under the left side fairing or the one under the tank. Just went through this on my 09..

Classic S6 symptoms. I guess you haven't done the recall?

Funny thing is, mine had the recall harness. It was the S4 under the glovebox fried...

Where are you located? You will need to take the left side faring off. The burned spider will be obvious. Cut the burned connector off and solder all the wires together.

I know it is the one on the left side. I fixed Lisa's last year. same symptoms. Pretty crappy recall if it doesn't fix the whole problem. I guess they were just shooting for the one that shut the bike down?

Recall was done. Looks like I am tearing into the fairing. Thanks, I will let you know what I find.

It was that left side connector block. Not totally fried but corroded. Tried to clean it and add some electrical grease, it just sizzled and the lights still flickered when I touched it. Looks like I'm cuttin and solderin. Not a butt load to work with is there.

I just finished building a supplimental harness like the ones Brodie and Art were selling a few years ago. I have a spare wire harness to pull the spider connector from.

Thanks, but all good. I cut off the connector, stripped the wires put a large connector on all them and soldered it. Wired tied it up to the harness and hope for no more problems!

I'd go a little further and find them all, clean and contact paste at minimum.......... good news is you got it fixed.

Agreed. What is concerning is that I know mine were all touched last winter (January 2016) and were good. All but S6 were coated with contact paste in October 2016. S6 went south very quickly. Even with the harness I built, I'll make sure I touch each one every winter during annual maintenance sweep...
