Thanks Givi!!!!

Post by Hppants »

3/25/17 Dear Revzilla: Please reference Order number xxxxxx. My Givi XS307 tank bag has 2 problems. The zipper pull has been torn, and now the zipper on the lid is skipping a tooth when I try to close the tank bag. I realize that my tank bag is 15 month old, but when one pays $150.00 for soft luggage, he expects it to last longer than that. Is there anything you can do? Sincerely, Pants

3/26/17: Dear Pants: Sorry to hear your Givi bag is failing prematurely. Thankfully, their products feature a 2-year warranty. They prefer to deal with the customers directly regarding warranty claims. Please contact them at: Info@giviusa.com Sincerely, Revzilla

3/27/17: Dear GiviUSA: Please see below. Please advise what I need to do. Sincerely, Pants.

3/28/17: Dear Pants: We appreciate the interest you have shown in our products. Givi USA backs its products with a 24 month warranty. To process your claim, we will need proof of purchase and pictures of the damage. Sincerely, GiviUSA

3/30/17: Dear GiviUSA: Thanks for your note. Please find attached proof of purchase and pictures of the damage. My ship to address has not changed since the original purchase. Please advise going forward. Sincerely, Pants.

3/31/17: Dear Pants: Thanks for this information. A replacement XS307 tankbag is being shipped to you today. Inside the box will be a return shipping label. Please place your old tank bag in the box and ship it back to us. Again, we apologize for this inconvenience and hope you continue to enjoy our products. Sincerely, GiviUSA

3/31/17: Dear GiviUSA: Thanks!!!!! Sincerely, Pants.

That's good to know that there are honorable manufacturers still out there.....and that you held on to the receipt.

Last year I had a similar issue with Garmin and a failing TPS, they also took care of me.

Well played Givi.

It is, however, a little sad that the simple act of a manufacturer standing by their products and customers, is remarkable.

I agree. Unfortunately, because most businesses don't give a sh**, the ones that do seem exceptional. Which I guess they are...now.

Good for you, Pants!

Givi makes a quality product and it's nice to see they back it up as well. My E52 bounced around in rush hour traffic as my FJR flopped around - it's on the current '09 and has never leaked or failed function.

I agree, Wayne. This is the first issue I've ever had with a Givi product, and they made it right pronto (my replacement tank bag was at my door yesterday afternoon). My V46 top box took the slide with my in 2015 when I went down in western Colorado. It never unhooked from the SR-357, and aside from a small spot of rash on the left side which is hardly visible, sustained no damage. I did have to replace the painted lid, but only for cosmetic reasons. It is still in use today.
