Just brought this home today. It is in immaculate condition. Was a nice ride home, even if only 20 miles. 2008 AE. Heated grips, bigger windscreen, corbin seat, throttlemeister. Also included the original stock seat and windscreen as well as an accessory shelf.

Thanks guys. Everything on it seems pretty much perfect. Only issue so far was after i got it home, went out to the garage and found that the front tire was flat.

Aired it up and within 20 min it was back to 20psi. Guess what I am gonna be doing tomorrow.

Check the valve stem. I have had those leak around the base.

I'm sure someone here will have a definitive answer about how much beer an FJR can hold as well.

Welcome to the asylum. We are glad to have ya. Have you given any thoughts to adding accessories?

I'm not sure what accessories I might need. Keep in mind I have been riding a 79 xs1100 for the past 10 years or so. What the bike has now is night and day compared to what I'm used to. One thing I think I do want is bar risers and some case guards.

I will get out there and check for the leak this morning Ivan. Bummed because I was planning on riding it for work today.

As far as beer, how much will it carry? Very important question, some of the assholes I ride with drink alot.

If you take them out of the cardboard packaging, you can get at least 18 12-ounce cans into one hard case.

One feller 'round here likes to camp with his FJR. He sets the bike on the center stand, opens a hardcase, fills the horizontal side with ice, then loads in the bottles or cans.

Unsure on beer capacity but just carried home 4 handles of hard liquor in each side case from a shopping trip last Saturday and still had some room.

Ok, cool. so 18 in each bag, figure a 30 pack strapped to the rack and another on the back seat. That should work. .

Only if you're considering that many cans each day. After the month mark, you either have to raise it to 48 cans/day or get into the hard stuff. Maybe toss a little oxy in for good measure, because it helps you calm down from all the Molly and crank you have to use before the ride, you know, so you get the full experience. Of course, these can all be mixed and shotgunned for maximum effect. However, I must suggest that using this combination before a ride does tend to distract your attention and you won't be able to text properly or watch Netflix while riding, so please use caution.

Welcome aboard. 2008 was a good year for the Gen II's. Bike looks very good. How many miles were on it and whereabouts are you located?

Thanks guys. It has just under 36000 miles on it. P.O. Just had the 36k service done on it at a dealership, whatever that consists of.

I am in Kansas City, have been riding for about 12 years, a large portion of that time with silverback. Yup, I claim him as a good friend.

Found the source of my leak in the front tire, (the valve core) . Quick fix and was on the road to get it inspected. Took the long long way home even though it was lightly raining. Didn't really want to stop. The bike handles much better with air in the front tire.

I'm glad the front tire was a quick fix. How ancient are the tires that was on this baby...did it sit for very long?

Again, welcome. You obviously have no concerns about taste, having signed up here...but glad to have you, and congrats on the bike.

The bike hasn't sat more than one in Kansas city would in the winter. The tires aren't that old, but are getting replaced next week as soon as the new rubber gets here. The front is very weirdly worn/cupped, most likely from being ridden with very low pressure. The rear tire has a nice amount of tread left, but a nice wide flat spot in the middle like the guy NEVER leaned it over. Lol.
