Hello

Post by Fjr doc »

Hi, just came across the name on the "other" site. Never knew this place existed and so happy to find it. First glance seems almost like a sister site with pretty much same people and same group ride and events being organized. But I get a feeling this place is more relaxed, being courteous and over all mature cool vibes. :D Now I might be mistaken as I have only few hours of scavenging and lurking here. Please correct me if my assumption is wrong. Is there any cool story behind the formation of three sites, as in Any peeps been around that long to see the the origin of all these. Am just rambling never mind me. It's winter. :stickpoke:

Anyways 2006 fjr from Ohio, and looking forward to meet many folks in the coming season. Whole list of work is pending like fluid flushes and some suspension work etc, hopefully be done by March and ready to roll by April. At least 6 more weeks of winter blues is What the rat snitched.

This is sort of "The Land of Misfit Toys." Some of us are on FJRForum and here. Some are on one or the other, and a very small amount are on all 3. Honestly with these guys on two sites, I have about all the jackassery I can handle. I fear a 3rd site would push me over the edge. I also believe the FJROwners site has adds. The other two do not.

Anyway, look around and enjoy. Don't let anything you read or see shock you. Haha...

Zilla you are a misfit so no worries about being pushed over the edge! :D Hopefully the OP is not shocked - well not really but it sounded good.

Yeah, I wouldn't cling too tightly to that mature description, unless by mature, you mean old.

..and if by misfit toys Zilla you mean people that can't stand some Crap at other places, then you are correct.

That is a VERY clean '06. I was surprised to see a stock seat on an 11 year old FJR. The bike looks great.

If you need help spending your money to modify your FJR, we are here for you. There is not much we don't know about these bikes and what we don't know we can easily make up convincing lies about it.

We are glad you joined, welcome to FJRiders.

Re: Hello

Post by Fjr doc »

thank you for accepting me here and the warm welcome every one :)

yes, first "forum" i landed was filled with ads that it was not even funny. Absolutely no way you could browse using phone on that one.

second one i landed was maintained well, clean helpful. Lots of good people and info, but at times, some what felt a bit mechanical/ or too robotic. A little bit of fallacy is what makes humans unique creative and fun. Forums have to have a controlled chaos, let peeps be peeps with their unique quirks. We come to this alternate online world to live and share a life less contorted by iron fists. Bit suffocating but sticked around because of the wealth of info and good folks. Not that it matters much to me since i am a lurker mostly and not much of an active participant. And by sheer luck found this place. Secretly i am hoping there is some kind of romantic back story to this place where a group of people with same set of asylum mindset split away from all the mainstream and formed this place. But i might be completely wrong As i usually am.

Bike was very clean on that shot as i just finished cleaning and put away for winter. Not hard core enough to ride snow and salt :D

I swear i searched and made sure others havent posted a Intro before i posted :)

Gonna try my level best to make it to Seor :)

Guess i shouldnt listen to wall/floyd when writing a post

Holy gawd, i just read through some threads, and realized there is in fact some misunderstandings small amount friction going on in some faction/ quarters, please disregard my above quick review of forums. It was just an observation i made from being around for only handful of days. It was never meant to be a critic and pointing finger at any thing. After all all the above provide lot of good help without costing any thing.

Short version all forums are good, there is no right or wrong answer in how forums are run, each has its character and i am thinking in my mind this place might be a better fit for someone like me. Hence hope to stick around this part of town more, hope you guys dont mind :)

Hey, welcome here. You'll find good people from here there and everywhere, as long as you find your way to SE Ohio, you'll be golden.

You'll find that roads, riding and FJR riders are all good in that combination.

Doc, you were sort of correct in that many of the most vocal members here came from Over There. This is a less regulated forum and the rules are not as...confining.

There are some wonderful people on all 3 forums, some of us maintain a membership on all 3.

Do not fear putting your opinions out there, do not be put off by some of the craziness that you may have read elsewhere on this forum. All of those involved are really good folks, they just get a bit heated sometimes.

Help us make this place as good as or better than any other forum on the 'net. Post up Good Things. We especially like Ride Reports with lots of pics and Food Pics are really appreciated.

Hello fellow Ohioan. :D Not sure if I have met you anywhere- I would think I would remember such a purdy blue bike....

But I seem to meet a lot of fellows at Iron Pony. Lol.

Hope you can make it to the ramble, it's a fun and relaxed get together that brings outsiders in to play on our fun roads that we are so lucky to have nearby. And the people are cool, too.
I haven’t made any really bad decisions lately... I’m getting bored.

The Doc says small amount of friction.... That made me :D.

And there is a small amount of friction on the San Andreas fault too. :D :D

I just got tired of walking on eggshells when it is supposed to be about meeting with new peeps and sharing a few laughs. Instead too many got thumped and scolded for all to see. And even if it wasn't me I felt bad for the poster getting thumped - and that was not enjoyable either. Then one day this place got busy again and here we are.

Doc I hope you can share a few laughs and meet some new peeps.
