Hello from south Louisiana
Hello all. My name is Patrick. Long time rider, first time FJR owner. I picked it up brand new out of the crate a couple weeks ago. All I have ever owned are sport bikes and cafe's. My latest was an 11 Kawasaki ZX10r ABS. It was a beast and a blast to ride. I traded it in on my FJR. I picked it up at lunch and brought it back to work and everyone was like "OH, an old guy bike". Hey now.....it's just age appropriate. I thought I was gonna get a Concours but when i rode the FJR i was like OH HELL YEA. Anyway, I did my research and the FJR just looked like a better bike and certainly a better value so that's what i got. It's only been a couple weeks but I am super happy so far. I look forward to getting to know y'all and learning about my new bike.

Welcome to THE forum. It is a nice place the admins have set up here.

Uh...Hello? I am right here. I can see what you are typing. I may have to file a Hurt Feelings Report.gixxerjasen wrote:Welcome, here's hoping your better than the other members we have from South Louisiana.
Welcome from a fellow South Louisiana member. There are at least two of us already here. I am by far the nicest, smartest, and I ride the best looking of bike. The other guy is pretty lame.
I am based out of Prairieville, my "friend" hppants lives in Lafayette. Tell us about where you are, what you know how to cook and what type of boat you have. We will move forward from there.
If you go to the Ride Reports section you will find a few good RRs from hppants. They might be worth your time.
Oh by the way, do you have the stuff to change our tires for free? Just asking...

Re: Hello from south Louisiana
Really. I am MUCH smarter than hppants. This is obvious when you look at our bikes. He rides the shiny pink one. I ride the sophisticated, sleek, electronically advanced Liquid Graphite ES FJR. Even the casual observer can see I am the smarter of the two.LKLD wrote:C'mon RF, smartest? Really?
Congrats on the new bike, Patrick, and welcome to the forum!
As far as the rest of the country/continent/forum is concerned I cannot say who is the smartest. I will say that right now I can ride my FJR and most of them cannot. That makes me feel smarter right NOW. That will change soon but at this particular moment...

Welcome to the forum and the FJR! You traded from a beast of a bike to a great all around bike. You will love its capabilities, stamina and willingness to give you all she's got.

Re: Hello from south Louisiana
HA! well i dont have a boat. other than riding i love to go to the range and kill the hell outa some paper. as far as what can i cook well if it goes on the grill or in a crock pot i cook it. I live in that new neighborhood Eagle's Landing at the corner of Joe Sevario and 42. You know the one across from Mom's. Seeing someone from the same city i was in was a reason i joined. and we are the same age. we have lived in P-ville for 18 years. We should get together some time.

I'm not FROM Prairieville, I just live there. Because my wife told me that was where I wanted to live.

Re: Hello from south Louisiana
Yea i definitely would not say dumber. we have the second largest concentration of petrochemical refineries in the nation which is also why we are one of the leading cancer research areas in the world. good and bad but not dumb. even the auto industry recognizes that south Louisiana has an unusually high concentration of outstanding and nationally recognized technicians in the country. if you want to call us anything you can call us fatter. that is a fact. but i am not from here either. this is just where we ended up when my wife said we are moving away from her parents. i said....say it with me....YES DEAR!

Re: Hello from south Louisiana
So basically what you are telling us is that the folks in South Louisiana are smart and good looking, with a few exceptions. Geez, why do we always have to attract the exceptions?

I may be a dumbass (okay, more than likely I am) but I do have some exceptional friends. Don't you agree, my friends?

Golly, you fellows sure misunderstood what I was trying to say. I did not mean the entire forum, I was only talking about myself and hppants, the South Louisiana members. I am certain that my friend hppants would completely disagree and the back and forth would begin.BkerChuck wrote:Welcome aboard!

And truly, I am still ahead of my friend hppants when it comes to crashes. I did scratch mine all to hell when it was only 12 hours old. But hppants did a Yard Sale Crash before his Gen3 was a year old.
I am hoping that this new Louisiana member does not feel any peer pressure to crash his FJR just to fit in with the group.
