Gen 1 USB power tap
Pulled the hazard switch and installed a dual USB port in it's place but haven't tapped the wires yet. Anyone done this? trying to NOT make a hash of the wiring. The fuse box is right next to this. I have relays and am considering using one but the USB port is a fairly low draw.

What USB port did you use?
No relay should be required. Even the newer high output USB adapters required by Iphones only draw a few of amps.

My wife asked me why I speak so softly around the house. I said that I was worried that someone was listening. She laughed, I laughed, Alexa laughed.

My hazard switch works when it wants to, and I refuse to spring $35 plus shipping for a new one. I have never needed to use it in angergggGary wrote:Pulled the hazard switch and installed a dual USB port in it's place but haven't tapped the wires yet. Sounds like a decent use for that space.

Should have used one like this, might even be a drop in fit
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/401126110629
And the volt meter is pure bonus
But I had a round one with a push in cover and LED power indicator, So I hacked away at the panel till it fit, it looks good now that it's in.
