Wheel bearings

Who has done them? What was involved? At how many miles? Just curious

Had front bearings done at 62,000 ks one of the ball bearing had split in half , my local bike mechanic , did the job

I've done them on other bikes, but not the FJR. It's a pretty easy job, but you'll need a bearing puller. I bought a bearing pulling kit (http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/ ... ing+puller) for $90. I probably saved that much in shop labor charges the first time I used it.

Freeze the new bearings to make them smaller and press them in using a large C-clamp and 2 small blocks of wood.

Ha, I bet that would have helped on all those suspension bearings too!

Yep, it's like 4-wheel drive. You don't use it very often, but when you need it, you need it.
