sometimes you have to Hang your bike. and you look around the garage and start thinking.
Crude but works well.

Helped me replace all the pivot bearings which was a real Pain in the ass. But the reward was installing the new shock

Also I rebuilt the Fork Tubes. If you have never been in there... Here is the exploded view.

That reminds me...I have to change my fork oil. I found that having the bike on a jack that can be easily adjusted made the shock removal and replacement a little easier. Did you put a jack under the wheel? That would probably work well also.

It's taking all those stupid pivot bolts out... A redesigned center stand would be awesome. Scary to take off that center stand and lay under a bike swinging from a 2x4 bridge between two 30 year old home made car ramps.

I didn't remove the center stand when I did mine.

The bolts will not come out? Why is yours easier?

Not sure what you mean. I didn't take all the pivot bolts apart. Isn't one of the bolts for the dogbone common with the center stand? Either that or I just don't rember what the f@$k I did! What I do remember is that the removal was a good learning process. The new shock went in a lot easier.

OH! Shock was really easy. Done that before. I replaced every bearing and pivot. Hard to do. There were torches and presses and blood and hammers

Gotcha! I plan on doing all those bearings here soon. Probably have the same fun.

Not a bad setup. I've used my engine lift (Cherry Picker) when messing with suspension or removing wheels. It's worked out pretty well so far.

I put together one of these made out of pieces of pipe I saw on a webpage a few years ago.
Really comes in handy to have a way to hang my FJR when I need to.
So far I've just used it for front tire changes, but am glad to have it.
