Break Away with oem heated grips and grip puppies

Post by jsaul53 »

I know their website says not for heated grips but have saw where several have said they did it. Wondering if one of those that has one working with oem heated grips with grip puppies could supply the model number you are using. Thanks

I don't have the pups, but I do have "Heated Grip Compatible" Grip Buddies over OEM heated grips. The heat still comes through, but is slower to get up to heat by a second or two.

They get sufficiently warm, although I suppose may not get as heated as without.

FWIW I am running Honda heated grips with grip puppies over many years. They work like a champ. The combo helps fight fatigue and cramping. I've gone through three sets of puppies due to just aging and hardening; not everybody likes them, but I have larger than average hands so I like a larger grip circumference. It takes an extra minute or two to heat up, but unless I am in snowy sub-freezing weather I have to turn the heat down. YMMV.
Just another old fart.

I use a throttlemeister

A bit pricey, and finicky to install/set up, but seems to work well.

Used sets come up from time to time

Was able to put breakaway on without too much issue it did take the extender to get past the casing. I pulled back the grip puppy for the mounting the breakaway and put the grip puppy right up to it. Works well.

I will say this is the breakaway that goes over the grip versus the original one that I had that went on the throttle tube.
