FNG in Stone Mountain

Greetings, I'm Bryce, currently of Stone Mountain. I started on an '07 AE in '08 back in Florida, went to the '09 EOM, and promptly decided that I needed to be much closer to curvy mountain roads. My FJR wasn't running so well after I moved Georgia so I took a detour to a Night Rod and then a Z1000. A couple weeks ago I saw the new FJRs came in red so I got shiny new ES for my birthday last week and did 1,100+ miles around the Smokies last weekend.

I'm soooooooooo happy to be back drinking the FJR kool-aid. It's delicious and refreshing.

If you're local-ish you can often find me at Rider's Hill on whichever weekend day has the better weather, usually with my wife following on her Spyder.

I'll be there... eventually. Ended up heading for Toccoa and then into SC and NC yesterday. Tried a few new turns around Norton and kept finding dirt :-( Also discovered that Carolina Smokehouse in Cashiers is definitely not worth stopping at. Next weekend we're headed for Johnson City because I want to re-live the EOM-1 & -5 routes from '09. Been a while since I hit up Big Stone Gap and my wife has never explored much around there.

After that we'll probably fall back into the routine of spending more time hanging out at Riders Hill / TWO than actually riding around the mountains.

Welcome. Moving to Greenville, SC in about a week, so maybe I'll see you out and about.

Looking at the map, I can hardly imagine a better home base for the area. Don't miss Charley's Creek Road, which runs between NC 215 & 281. Gets some dirt / gravel around the homes, mostly at the 215 end, but it has some of the tightest curves around. Traffic on 276 has already started to pick up tho. If you get the chance, Bogat's in Waynesville and The Corner Kitchen in Asheville are some of the best places I've eaten in the south.

I could be convinced to make a lunch run out to Franklin or Highlands.
