Festus wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 10:20 am My warm and safe glove liners saved me. My hands weren't "warm" but they weren't cold either. We stopped for a bathroom break about 40 minutes from home and I took my gloves off. When I came back, I realized my gloves were soaked all the way through. I had no idea because the heated liners had kept the cold moisture off my hands all day. So much for waterproof gloves. If I had ridden in those all day without the liners, I would have been home about 6 hours earlier :)
As reported here - http://www.fjriders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7039 - I think my some 10 year quest for warm waterproof motorcycle gloves may finally be over. Only time will tell.

I read that the other day, with great interest John! I'm still searching for the right gloves for me. Haven't gotten to a point where I'm happy enough with anything to send them off. Sounds like he does a great job.

It helps too if you remove the headlight adjusting rods. You'll see ;) . Doesn't have detachable cables like the Gen2.

Installed the MC Enterprises rear Canyon Cages (front set on bike week after purchase) and 3M reflective tape (like on my 16) on rear of the hard cases. Counting down to SEO.

Rode it 440 miles of connector roads down heeya. My roads connect to 28, connected to Warwoman, 76, 17, 348, 129, 60, 68, Cherohala, 129, Wayah(freshly paved!), 64, 28 which connects to my roads. The unseasonably cold weather kept the hordes away today. First ride in four months for me, first without Duane around...needed to do it. After Lumberg showed me how you ride a motorcycle on 68 and the Cherohala, we stopped at Turkey Creek Overlook and saluted our friend. After that, the heavy fog in that location literally lifted 5 minutes later.

Checked tire pressure, oil level. Rolled it out of the shop.

Guess what happens now?

Started her up after 5 months sitting idle...no problem, first hit of the starter button. Let her warm up all the way, constantly listening for any funny noises from the new CCT I installed in December. So far so good. Set about removing the left fork for servicing and had a hell of a time wrestling it down and out of the triple tree! I eventually got it, but can see no reason why it was in there so tight unless there's more than 3 pinch bolts!? Surely you don't grease the forks when you reinstall?

Nah...the plastic seems to be holding itself up just fine with neither fasteners nor duct tape so far. After I get the new PR4s mounted, which you seem to imply is a necessity, I will hunt for fasteners and try to put them in the holes.

I have some trouble with the cruise control staying engaged on the new to me 2013. I followed RaYzerman's suggestion about cleaning up the wheel sensors and mounts. That seems to allow the cruise control to work at times. I still need to clean the rear brake pivot and the front brake switches with contact cleaner. In the meantime I ran the VIN# of the bike for any recalls not completed. Sure enough there's a front brake switch recall. That repair will most likely fix the cruise control issue.

I had to clean my front brake switch because of a momentary disconnect issue

I cleaned my 2013 front brake switch and it made no difference so I replaced it myself. Not a big job, about $90.

Yes.
