I never took the time to put heated grips on this '09. It had the v-strom hand guards on it when I got it and I had let that be good enough.

If Wheaton's valve check had gone any further sideways, it would have ended up in GA.
If he wanted a new FJR, he could just throw another one in the ditch!

Kidding aside, glad you were there Griff to right the ship on the valve check.
Ahem.

Aha, I've been poking at the search function because my stock AE heated grips aren't so warm anymore. Looks like I have some interesting work ahead of me. That said, Texas summer is coming so likely I'll forget about it till I need it again. :D

Yeah, but I could have used that last tooth on that Wheaton pass.

I picked up a Raptor on my way to Florida.
I’ll try it when I get home.

Rode it.

There is no substitute for some two-wheel therapy - brisk (temperature wise) 150-ish mile loop this afternoon. It runs, rides, handles as expected - meaning I didn't F anything up...

Crap! You would almost think you were buying BMW parts.
I had to replace the neutral switch on my 2007. Seems to me it was maybe $50 at the time. Don't know what the GenIII+ version is like, but the '07 was a wire with a multi pin connector on one end and a block with 5 copper contact "pads" on the other - one for neutral plus one for each gear. (There was a discontinuity inside the block for the neutral wire which couldn't be easily soldered because the wires were potted in epoxy or something)

Probably similar…I didn’t shop around, I just called one of the local stealerships and ordered it over the phone..

Typical gouging with Canajan prices for OEM parts. The 6 speed one is pricey, but so is the 5 speed switch. Save the old one!! Might be able to clean up the contacts and the plunger..... have to replace the one on my former root beer FJR, I've cleaned it a few times..... but I have a gently used one with 2k miles on it from the '14 engine I put in the '06 project bike. Partzilla price ~U$55 or so.
