About 200 miles yesterday under severe clear skies and about 60-70 degrees. Shrimp poboy for lunch. Good ride.

Almost 100 miles today, temps from 40-44. Went looking for murals to photograph for the GLMC GT featuring a mural theme for 2023. Here's a few.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Got a TPMS in the mail today. Now looking for a place to mount it. Why do they sell things that just mount to round handlebars?
Looking to find a one to two ram mount so i can use the stem mount that the GPS is using and branch off of it.

RAM mounts big and ugly...... make a bracket to mount to the two bolts in the brake perch, up and out of the way. This one from 0.030" stainless and painted black. Patterned after a bracket I had for the GPS mount on my VFR. TPMS is mounted with 3M two way tape. Just an idea..........

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I got tired of waiting on wheaton’s writeup from his valve check.
So I got an R6GT installed on the front. Changed the batteries in my tpms heads. Found that fobo changed from 2032 batteries in the 1.0 series to 1632’s in the 2.0. Luckily, since I’m an optic whore, I had both in stock.
I was seriously delinquent on checking my windshield screws. None were terribly loose, though one had sheared off. Replaced the well nut and applied a new screw.
That’s about all I’m technically qualified to do.

Walked past it and did nothing. Just kind of stressed out lately and need more downtime away from work, didn't feel like starting the process for the valve check as a rookie quite yet.

Snuck in about 70 miles today, 17 more murals visited but too lazy now to post pics. Put new front pads and rotors on Dianne's Altima.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Is that on a articulated arm so your passenger can access the phone? Kinda like the swing away arm rest the old Goldwings had??
I swapped the battery tender lead from the DRZ over to the FJR. Hung the FJR bags and began making my winter maintenance list; FJR gets rear shock service, front fork service, spark plugs, air filter, coolant flush, rear suspension link service, and de-cluttering of accessory wiring.
Ride There!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
This reminded me about the sheet of 1632's I ordered off Amazon recently for just this reason as the rear stopped responding. Just went out and swapped both front and rear for fresh batteries.bill lumberg wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 7:01 pm So I got an R6GT installed on the front. Changed the batteries in my tpms heads. Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
In the midst of winter maint. and checks.
Bike has about 65000km so... takin' a peek at a few things.
Checked the steering head bearings today... 'Looking good, so just a clean and re pack with grease.
'Bottom is a PITA to work on, but I think I got it
Over the last little while 'managed to change the coolant too.
I'll be ordering tires soon so... 'Will be checking a few more points along the way.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Compared tire prices across different sellers. Not a tire thread, looking at Pilot Road 4 GT again. Was surprised Revzilla is $143.59 MORE than Dennis Kirk for the same tires. Chaparral and Rocky Mountain within $15 of Dennis Kirk, only Revzilla seemed WAY out of line. Still waiting for the Michelin rebate promotion before buying.

Excellent pictures! I've seen water pipes from logs a various museums, nice to example of how they did it.
It's too deep, this is a bike not a canoe.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Been cold for a Florida boy in NC.
Weather man said cold and rainy.
Looked clear to me.
Nice afternoon ride yesterday. Warm and dry.
I was almost overdressed. High 60s.
Liking the new FJR.
Since my side bags are still on backorder. I sported a silver 2013 Corbin smuggler on the cobalt blue bike. The addition of painters tape since the smuggler seemed a little snug to the stock seat just added a nice touch.
