I've got this exact one in my ambo. The blue leds light the entire interior at night. Not just a little bit..
At least go for red that won't kill your night vision.

Lol. My bike looks like the millennium falcon with the LEDs and 4th gen xenon hid's. But i rarely ride at night either.
Come to think of it, i should pull off the HIDs and put them on the ambo.

Same.
However, my lightly used Lucky13 is going to get it's first valve check in December... AFTER I get a clutch pin locknut. I plan on riding this machine long and hard. I have many trips planned...at an FJR pace.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I had 2 great days of riding on my, gives me a perma grin every time I straddle it, FJR1300 Monday I did a 200 or so mile loop which included RT276 (for those who know the area) The part that runs by Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock Falls etc. is so sweet but if your smart you avoid it from mid May until mid November as the traffic takes any joy that great road gives you away. Monday I practically ran the whole thing without passing anyone. The last 4 incredibly twisty miles of 276 running up to the BRP from Cradle of Forestry is one of the best stretches anywhere. Nothing like it when you have it all to yourself.
The Monday after Thanksgiving weekend has to be at the top of the quietest days in the mountains all year. This includes all of 276, 178, BRP, and 215. Everyone is back to work and turkeyed/long weekended out. Hardly a soul anywhere. I also have put this time of the year at the top of my favorite times to rides. The list is long as to why, perfect dry 50's 60's weather, the leaves are off the trees and you can see deep into the woods. All the mountains, streams, homes, and yes even Bambi who might want to dart out at you is much more visible at this time of year. Love the horseshoe curves too that you never see most of the year due to leaves.
Took a run over to Pretty Place Chapel on the NC/SC line off 276. It was a picture perfect blue sky day and thought it would make for a nice photo and break. I was trying to figure out how to wheel the FJR down the chapel steps so I could get next years calendar photos but thought it might not be a good idea Yesterday I met up with a local group of mostly SC riders who have been around since 1970 and have over 75 on their email list. Mostly retired guys but very serious riders who usually meet up twice a week all year long. It was my first time meeting up with them and they could not have been more welcoming. I certainly plan to hook up often with them. All in all two fantastic days and hope for many more like it this winter season.

AWESOME! Great report! When I do 276 it is usually right around daybreak because it is so heavily traveled.

Well, if you're replacing your '13, you've got to make it official and update your profile. For all we know you just borrowed LKLD's bike and took a photo.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
2022
I think they had me with blue. I liked the Matte blue but really love this cobalt blue. I noticed online that there was one at a dealer on the way home from SFO. It's about an hour from here. Rode all day in the rain. Stopped in and told a young salesman I want this bike. Make the numbers work.
Well, as you would expect they are not making great deals. I paid MSRP, but they did actually give me a decent trade.
Took me a month to get my title from Florida. They mailed it to the wrong address. Wanted me to pay $65 and wait 3 weeks for another. Luckily, a nice lady at the post office found the title sitting in a stack of mail waiting to be forwarded. I have changed my address with the post office three times. They still don't have my new address on file. So any mail that goes to my old box just sits in the post office.
New bike has a NC tag with temp sticker on it. Paid the property tax so I can get my real sticker. $115 you pay every year!
I was noticing my 2013 just needed quite a bit of maintenance coming up. It was a good reliable bike, but at 88k the suspension was long in the tooth. Also time for the pivot, brakes, etc.
So instead of spending thousands on the old bike I just bit the bullet.
I really noticed the difference on the way home. The bike feels 2" taller than the old one. Rides better. I love the ES. I know it's not a popular option with many, but for me it will be fine for years to come.
I always said I wanted one more FJR. I like the Blue, the ES, the better lights, the 6th gear. Nothing I had to have but nice.
Dealer did make me leave my clearwater lights and Corbin seat on the old bike. Didn't care about the seat, but I would have liked the lights.
I have an IOU for saddlebags. Finance person tried to tell me they were an optional accessory. Nope, manager confirmed they owe me bags in the deal.
I think first order of business is a Russel Day long and some protective guards. T-Rex are out of stock.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Congrats on the new FJR Dan! I am glad they continue with the blue in 2023. If I get a chance upgrade my 05, it is the color I would like to stay with. Hopefully it will be a while before I need to upgrade though.

Regarding the lights; The Clearwater ones are great, but $$$$$. I just love my LEDrider ones and the price was right. Service was good too.
I just tried the website and they are not working...UGH.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Nice Dan I like the blue.
I was going to fill my tank with gas and stabilize it today, but it wouldn't start. The battery was very low and it just clicked. Hooked up the battery tender. I think the battery is only like 2 years old. Maybe I got a shit battery.
