You know i actually had a guy almost pull a left turn in front of me but I hit the brakes and the cage in the lane next to me came up along side and I guess the guy finally noticed the two of us. People just don't know how to drive. :(

(Did you replace or refurbish?)

Cramp-buster AND Throttlemeister?
Replaced. Might have been able to clean it up and carry on but too much work getting to it. A starter every 100K/15 years I can live with. Hell of a coincidence to come right on the heels of the stator.

Cramp Buster AND Throttle Meister AND Rostra AND a G2 AND a lot more worn rear brake parts than a good rider.

I blame some of it on the off road trophy

The Helibar Bridge I ordered arrived. I may install it tomorrow. On my 09 FJR I had a Helibar Triple Clamp and it moved the bars back 1.5 inches or so. I have missed that feature so decided to splurge.

Bugged me to cut the wire guide off but no choice without disconnecting all wires and cables.

Have some sort of tape on hand to hold washers under the top bridge (so-called triple clamp) while you have to thread the nut over the smaller bolt from underneath.

Installed Helibar Bridge. Boy was that a PITA. Accessing the nuts underneath the triple clamp is no fun. I was able to get an open end wrench on the nut while holding the wrench at an angle. There was no clearance for a socket. Then picking the right wrench was no fun either. The bike had after market risers so those fasteners had a 1/2 inch nut rather than 12 mm. And installing nuts and washers on the bottom of the triple clamp is fun either but I did so without loosing a single fastener!

The biggest bother was re-routing the throttle cables to sit on top, rather than beneath, the hydraulic lines located on frame across the battery. Reconnecting the throttle cables to the grip took some time to. While removing the throttle cable, it simply feel apart in my hands so I had to figure out what went were and when I did the throttle would not snap closed. Some grease and pushing and pulling was need to getting to snap close. The throttle cable wasn't designed to be curled, push and pull to get it positioned according the instructions.

Anyway I got it all put back together and sat on the bike. I think I will like this. My Russell seat sits higher than a stock seat so with the Helibar Bridge I will not have lean over as much as I have been.

Sad thing about the Helibar is it has to come off to tweak the steering stem bearing.

A little more than 300 mile ride with Chad the HD Guy. I discovered a few new roads and a couple new RTE destinations.

Beautiful downtown Atikokan!

Seriously though, 11 between Thunder Bay and Fort Francis is as pleasant ride. No traffic, Quetico provincial Park and an amazingly old hwy I'm perfect shape.

It helps to have a second set of hands. It doesn't have to be a strong set or a skilled set. Just someone to hold up the bar while you get the fasteners in place.
