Couple = >1000 miles isn't it. Just nod your head slowly if that is correct.

Had a new battery installed, so I felt motivated to wash 2021 off...hasn't been washed since before EOM last year.

I did brakes and clutch a couple of weeks ago. My brake gasket got all funny and pulled in on the edges so I couldn’t get a seal. Got a new one and no issues since.

Went for a rip around Advocate Harbour.
Roads are getting in rough shape but there was very little traffic and the scenery was fantastic.

I love the ride out to Advocate from Parrsboro. Did you take Apple River Road back toward Joggins? I haven't been on that part in years - probably rough.
(Edit - your Google Map only showed one indicated point rather than a route.)

Good luck with the sale. 2022 Yamaha Tracer GTs are not available. When they are I want too see if it could replace my FJR. Some day we can turn this place into a dual sport forum for former FJR riders.! 😁

My son who just turned 30 is probably not going to age out of his FJR very soon. JSNS!

New front tire yesterday. Cheap closeout T30 Evo off, T32GT on.

In 2018 I got 8030 miles from a T30 Evo GT.
In 2019 I got 9487 miles from a T31GT. Personal best for a front tire.
Then in 2021 to-date I got 4594 then 4557 from two T30 Evo not-GTs in succession. Big disappointment after good experience with the GT version.

Almost always wear tires until the tread disappears. Often 1000 miles after the wear bars touch pavement.

Really hoping to get T31GT life out of the T32GT. The T31GT is also notable as the only front tire which did not sour as it wore. Was as happy with it the last mile as the first.

Can you provide any more info on that camera?
Sorry for the late response here. I have the GoPro Max. Just a great fun camera to go along with the Hero 8 and 9 I also have. Yes I am a GP junkie but they gave me the 8 for free to replace the old cube Session cam from years ago that was a flop and crapped out so I did not buy them all :D One thing about GP, their customer service is excellent these days and they go out of their way to help their customers. Was not always that way but is now.

One thing about 360 is it is a whole new ballgame editing wise so its not for everyone. If your not aware, 360 cameras use 2 lenses and you have to use their Player software to stitch the 2 together. From there you export the footage to your software of choice. For the regular cams I have used Cyberlink PowerDirector which is arguably the best bang for the buck. It does also does a good job at 360. Videography is a hobby/passion for me and I love taking the GP"s out on every ride as you never know what your going to get, hopefully good things! Hope this helps.

Hppants wrote: Thu Mar 31, 2022 6:14 pm Absolutely gorgeous weather this morning after a nasty cold front passed through yesterday evening. Woke up to about 50 degrees and severe clear. So I pulled out the ole red pig and accompanied a buddy on a 200 mile "local" back road adventure. Grilled shrimp salad for lunch.

We had the world all to ourselves.

I tell ya - this is a heavy bike. Since I bought the dual sport, I now realize just how heavy it is. But boy, it sure is fun to ride!!!
Great photo! I really enjoyed yours from last months calendar as well. I don't mind those cool starts especially when you know its warming up nicely during the day. Start off with a jacket liner and its in the bags by lunch time.

I was able to enjoy the same type of ride Hppants did yesterday. 50's at 10:30am, got to the 60's before I headed up the hills, then back to 50 on the BRP, only to return to the 70's at the end of the day. Was a great 250 mile loop. For those that know the area, I was gassing up where 215 and 276 intersect and came across a group of riders. I started talking with them and they were with a guy associated with Rider Magazine. Seems in carrying on the tradition of the late Larry Godsky's and his Staying Safe column (he lost his life hitting a deer at night I believe in Texas years ago now) they now are offering 2 Rider Safety gatherings this year and maybe others at Maggie Valley. Here is the card they gave me. The riders were from all over and I guess most found out about it on Facebook. They could not have been nicer to me. One guy from the group turns and says, man the FJR is one of my favorite motorcycles. Always nice to hear:)

I try like we all do to be so proactive to look out for the morons who want to kill us. Sometime no matter how careful we are something can happen we cannot control. Yesterday in Wheaton's neck of the woods Travelers Rest (going by the driving range) I was putting along nearing home thinking about the great day and was just starting to get past this truck who then decided to pull out and almost T Bone me  I saw him ahead and he seemed like no threat (always watch the tires for movement) but if I did not hit the gas and swerve it could have been bad. The photo does not show how close he came to me as he kept coming right at the middle of my bike. Whoa!! Really makes you think when something like that happens. Going over and over it in my head there was nothing I could have done to avoid it so guess it was just not my time. These are the exact reasons I never ride without a GP continuously recording my surroundings. I just pray that I never have to use it to put blame on some booger eater like this guy after an accident. Was such a good day so eventually shook it off but will always be on the lookout to avoid it if possible that same situation in the future.

Don't tread on him license plate? Looks like the kind of guy that would enjoy giving the Jap bike guy a scare. Or just a douche not paying attention?

Yeah. I don't ride to work. I try to avoid commercial/retail areas. People are dicks and don't give a rat's pitootee if they hit someone or something...so I avoid TR when headed out of town and would suggest that you avoid it as well...even if it is the straight line home. Too many pedestrians and cars pulling in and out. There are bypass roads. I'd probably hit the secret back ways around TR. From a previous, largely abandoned town, it is now a buzzin little town with the Swamp Rabbit Trail....and breweries, and distilleries, and...

Haha I noticed that plate as well, was so pissed, and flipped him off good. He was behind me for a good while but stayed way back. I honestly think he did not see me as he was coming right at me and not a scare. Moron either way but almost worse if he was messing with me because of my bike.

It’s SC…douche not paying attention. If he was upset there would have been gunshots.
