Did you spin the rear tire on gravel or something?
Deagle10 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 7:35 am
Rode it to work. Where after a stop light, I turned right at a spirited pace. Not redline, but did get on it. Then noticed my abs light was blinking. It blinked for the next 5 miles. Then it went off all by itself. Any idea what that is or means?
No tire spin, I just pulled out and got on it a little bit up to 60 mph. Was leaned over and accelerating is all. Thought I'd shut if off and see if it went away but after a while it went off by itself. Everything operated as normal.

I got nothing.
Maybe it thought someone had stolen it.

It's more likely related to wheel sensors..... one screw each, remove them, clean the hole as it may have aluminum corrosion, clean off the sensor, a little smear of grease in the hole and on the plastic adapter..
You could have had moisture in the sensors, usually that goes away when they dry out. Sometimes an ignition off/on cycle will reset it at least temporarily.
If you go into diagnostics, you may find a stored code related to wheel sensors. Clean the sensors and clear the codes, although the codes aren't affecting anything if stored. If active, you'll see a code displayed on your screen, then you'll have to investigate that.

Rode from Nebraska to WI yesterday, my body reminded me that I’m allergic to corn pollen. Doing a loop in SW WI today. A squiggly loop.

Did you lift the front wheel? That would do it.

When I changed the tires last Winter the abs cover looked new inside, but good idea and if it happens again I'll take them apart and examine them. Thanks Ray for giving me a good place to start.
Mcatrophy, another good suggestion. I didn't get on it enough to get the front wheel off the ground, but maybe it slipped a little on the turn? I've had zero issues with this bike and I'm not going to worry too much about it unless it happens again. I must have done something wrong just right.

Well my FJR is on the other side of this. Heavy rains all summer then a weird huge rain band yesterday. Driveway is submerged and soft. It was holding it's own till yesterday.
It's just standing water not running water. Been slowly going up for awhile, so I am afraid it's not going down for awhile. Strangely the pond next to the driveway was way down this spring. Lowest in the 5 years I have had the place. Now the water is by far the highest.
FJR is in my trailer under the barn. It's safe but not going anywhere soon.

New PR4GTs front and rear for both my buddy and I. We're getting better with the NoMar - only took us 3 hours to do 4 tires.
Oil change and lubed the pivot points. Looked over the bike.
She (and I) are ready to ride. One more week to wait!!

Decided when patches through the tread rubber into the cord rubber started showing it was time to mount a new tire Friday. Cords not showing but you can see the white wear marker Bridgestone puts down the center of front T3x tires.
Purchased (2) T30 Evo a year or two ago when Cycle Gear had a closeout sale. Front and rear for $175. Disappointed to have gotten only 4800 miles. Wore a T30 Evo GT 8000 miles. Previous PR4GT wore in 6750 miles, much faster than a PR4GT long ago which ran 8700. Before the latest PR4GT a T31GT set new personal front tire record of 9500 miles. So I ordered a T32GT for when Friday's tire wears out.
Two T30 Evos from the same lot. Balanced exactly the same. Took old off. Mounted new put dot within an inch or two of the first. No need to change or add weights.
Was watching my times. 8 minutes to carry tools out until the front wheel was off. Another 8 minutes to carry it to the back garage and remove the tire. Then 18 minutes to install the T30 Evo at 63°F, inflate, and check balance.
Forks due for service. Hopefully that remedies rapid tire wear. Bought seals and bushings but couldn't find. Ordered new Friday night from Rocky Mountain, arrived with the new tire noon Saturday via free standard shipping. Has been so long I forgot how good things used to be.

The line down the middle is called an Antenna Tread, it's purpose is to bleed off static electricity.

Today, I found that one muffler mount was torn away and bent at almost a 90 degree angle. Hoping to be able to get it fixed in time for eom.

Yeah, I've heard that before but no explanation why this tire needs it and others do not. This is the new tire:

That R75 will make it no problem! You can also amaze your friends with valve adjustments in the parking lot with a screwdriver!
