Today's route -
We left Prince George about 0900 and it was dry for the moment.
We had several intermittent showers before we reached Quesnel where we stopped for a spot of breakfast and coffee at a local bakery. It rained like he'll while we were there and the cameras were all in the tank bags - sorry no food porn.
After leaving Quesnel the Skies became more threatening
but the rain held off until we made the turn East on 24 at 100 Mile House. Not long after the turn we encountered heavy hail both from the sky and on the road. A truck had preceded us clearing the road surface enough for us to continue to ride but as the hail stones got larger they hurt! Thankfully we ran out from under the hail cloud and the sun came out. Life was good, until at the point marked A on the route we stopped for dewatering and fuel. The cloud caught up with us and once again it started to hail.
The arrival of the hail interrupted Skooter's refueling routine. He had removed his tank bag and opened the tank but hail was entering the tank so he moved to a pump under cover. A few miles down the road Skooter realized he had left his tank bag on the pump. We returned to the "scene of the crime"! Yes, CRIME!
Some ass holes in a Suzuki Viagra espied said tank bag and misappropriated it, the video system at the gas station caught the bastards in the act but the hail interfered with the picture enough to prevent getting a clear picture of their license plate. Tweaker Scum!
After spending an hour we hit the road sans tank bag only to run into a long pilot car for Daryl, Daryl, and Daryl filling the cracks in the road with tar and gravel. We were fourth in line behind a F350, SUV towing a trailer filled with mulch and a Toyota. As we approached the end of the construction zine the F350 put on his left turn signal, the SUV towing the trailer moved into the left lane and began to overtake the F350. We slowed to watch as the F350 turned into the SUV/Trailer driving the SUV into the ditch.
We didn't hang around for the fireworks.
Heading South on CA 5 we had a nice rabbit all the way into Kamloops.
We are staying in the Thompson Research University Conference Center in a dorm room suite.
Ez run to Nakusp tomorrow. We will leave later in the morning to let the rainy weax get ahead of us as the forecast is better later in the day.
