Folks, just a word with all y'all... I know we are all reeling from this loss and feel the immediate need to do something right now in some way... there are folks working behind the scenes to gather information for a memorial or whatever the family deems worthy (i.e. charity donations, etc.) and when they have the info, they will share it. This is going to be a long haul and not something that will take a week, a month, or even a year to "get over" and I'm sure there will be a plethora of opportunities for everyone to help in some way. If you know of anyone who doesn't frequent the forum or FB, be part of the information chain so Wayne, Lee and others aren't inundated with feeling like they need to keep every single person informed. Be patient, tell stories, shed tears, share laughter, and just be good to one another. <3 (we need a heart emoticon on this forum! ;) )

I made a meme, just to give him Hell. We never posted it anywhere, but screw it. I know he missed Marty and me, because we missed him. Now, I REALLY miss him.

Holy shit - that's awesome! That was taken on July 18,2020, in my back yard. Jason and Sonya came up for my 50th. As soon as they got here, Jason tore into a 12-pack of Blue Moon (on an empty stomach). This picture is the result. I was finding Blue Moon bottle caps in my yard for months after.
I actually took that picture. He caught me and this was the next picture:Image

I hated this thread the minute I read the title. And sure enough, with good cause. I wish I'd known Jason a lot better. We met at a couple of rallies but only that. But you still know when somebody is kind of a central figure to a group like ours just by the way he's spoken of by everybody else. I want to send very sincere condolences to Jason's family and his many close friends. Damn.

I think Jason proposed to a lot of people that night... and not just the ladies. ;)
Line here, just stole Steve's phone... I remember laughing so hard I had a hard time catching my breath.p

Ahhh...good times :manlove:
Was that the year of the orange creamsickle moonshine? I believe Jason's loyal lieutenant, Lumberg, was acting as Jason's spotter that evening.

My first encounter with Jason - January 2007 and the imfamous "Frosty Ballz" Ride in North George - met Jason, Jeff 'haulin' Ashe, Kev "fencer" and David "Scab" that day. I left at zzero dark thirty to get to the Waffle House in Dahlonega, GA. I'll find the ride report from that one.

There are so many stories of his kindness.

I am thankful to have been with the group of friends family Saturday evening in Ohio.

That was from Saturday. At the time we passed that photographer, on the Cherohala Skyway, Jason was filling Wheaton and I in (via comms) on Sonya and the girls, and the baby shower. Earlier that day, we got the scoop his son’s best wedding evar, followed by the best honeymoon evar. Legit.

If you look at the far left edge of the photo...you see something that does not belong in the photo. The edge of a sidebag perhaps. The only photo proof that I was with jwilly that day...a speck in Jason's slipstream.

I was always happy to be a speck in Jason's slipstream. I am happy that he slowed down so I could be close to him.

I'm trying very hard - though not successfully - to take some solace in the idea that he was doing exactly what he loved to do. In my feeble mind I picture that last chat with the Chief Ducker Upper going something like this:

(CDU): "Well Jason, today's the day. How would you like to spend it?"

(Jason): "Hmmm. How about this..."

Still ain't right but it's all I can come up with.

I've searched for the right words for a couple days now. Lots of reflection. Still don't have them.

The stars burn brighter now that you are among them. Godspeed Jason.

I found a few more from EOM 2011.

Jason had recently added some hardware to his back so he caged it to EOM. He brought a trunk full of beer.

Jason, Annette and Wayne.

There was some serious parking lot work on Jagermeister's FJR. Jason, Jagermeister, Lee Davis, and Wayne.

Me, Jason, yamafitter.

You KNOW that Jason had some serious balls, but to hold Dolly that close to his face, knowing where Dolly had been? Ewwww..... I'm pretty sure he just proposed to Dolly, though.

Jason, Dom, Wayne, and I were pretty much the original Hoodlums. We earned our stripes when I began organizing Frosty Balls and Wayne showed up with his face shield frozen over.

I've only been mad at Jason one time in all the years I knew him. When he took off after we spotted a LEO coming up the mountain towards us and Jason pulled out ahead and made an "unannounced turn" towards home. He was unbeknownst waiting for us a few miles later, while Scab and I spent about an hour looking around for him. He often called me Papa Jeff after that.

Very few people in my life have ever had so much influence on me. The four of us rode as inseparable for years until the inevitable changes in life and health and such took us in different directions. I was very happy to see Jason's recent posts about riding out west and taking some big adventure runs, happy to see my friend enjoying many of the things I remember doing at his age.

Life was never the same after meeting Jason. Live will not be the same without him.

Hey Jason, hold up at the top of 197, we'll wait for Wayne to come barreling up and hit the gravel. It'll be a hoot!

I don't remember it being a "hoot" of any sort...
