The 50L rack has been available for several years in Europe but could be purchased in the US with a little work. It requires some minor plastic cutting to fit, it comes with a template to guide the cuts. It is similar to the Givi rack for rear subframe support. The rack accepts all year Yamaha trunks (39L & 50L). The 50L trunk looks nice on the bike. I'm hiding this from my wife ;)

bungie4 wrote: Tue Sep 11, 2018 3:26 pm I can't look at new FJR, mine just broke 70KM ~ 43K. It's nearing the end of the break in and into the sweet spot that last way past 100K.

I would like to get the scrapes on my cowl and bag fixed. I'd also REALLY f@$king LOVE IT if my kids would stop kicking the saddlebags when they get on and off the bike. The alternative is that they don't ride anymore, I'm not good with that, so it falls into the I'll have to tolerate it category.
Be careful what you wish for. One of these days they will grow up and not be around to scuff your side bags. You'll wish you had the scrapes and them both back!

Wish I had known that before getting a 39L, I'm bummed I didn't research that further.

Wait, so what happened to the 2017 FJR? Yamaha's site lists the 2018 and the 2016. Wasn't the 2017 black? Are they going with a new one every 2 years now?

Hppants wrote: Fri Sep 14, 2018 6:10 pm Well I have to admit, I'm surprised.

I thought this thread would be hot as a firecracker with a heated debate over which color would best suit the 2019, which FJR is the best, and of course the obligatory pissing match between Wheatie and Uncle Hud, which we have all grown to love and expect.

But truthfully, there isn't much here. Maybe we are not really that interested. If so, I'd attribute that to satisfaction in our own motorcycles.

Maybe I'll find a way to stir some shit elsewhere....
After 16 years...I think people are still interested, but mainly we want to know that they are producing an FJR. They've put everything in there. It's still blazing fast across the country...and still looks sexy.

Especially that 13 model.
2013 is the sexiest!

You know I hope they keep making them. I like buying bikes new and keeping them for awhile. If they announce that a certain year is the last year of production. I will have to run out and get one. I have lots of unused amounts of fun left on this 2013. So not really ready for a new one.

Stopped by the local Yamaha dealer to get the stuff for an oil change. Saw a new 2018 FJR on the floor. Personally the shiney black parts and matte blue paint didn't do it for me. Your milage may vary.

They had it reduced to 16,399 but this dealer likes to play games with fees. So basically MSRP plus taxes to get out the door.

I like the blue. I don't particularly care for the black stuff. When the hell will the US 2019 color be announced?

I thought I'd go look to see if the Tracer 700 GT was released here (No, and it has no CC.. It's out of the hunt) when I noticed the FJR A model is no longer listed on the Yammie Canada website, just the ES. ($19699! Cdn)

The 2019 is available in Matt Blue, and Dark Gray in Canada

Depends on what Yamaha needs to know. Ask questions about this and they know nothing.

Ask them questions that involve generating this, and they are experts.

You obviously don't know me. I'm a pessimist.

Like I'm pessimistic that you will show up 11/11. (See how that works?)
