I noticed it too - and I got a couple of emails on it, but wasn't home earlier in the day. It's better now; seems to be host related, because even the admin panel was slow to respond. Could have been an issue with traffic on our server, but it seems to be picking up in the past 20 minutes.

Incredibly slow this morning, absolutely "Turtle Gears" on my Mac with Safari and as slow as Wheatie riding the Sierras on my Dell PC. How slow is it? Slower than HotRodZilla trying to add three and four, slower than Bustanut joker finger fecking a sheep and slower than ShinyPartsUp or Old Michael reaching to pay for a drink. That is truly slow, aye!

Don, we've had to place your account access on the slow train due to all the free time you seem to have...

Either something evil has hit Riders, or the upgrade introduced something unknown into the equation.
The board really isn't usable since this hit.

pretty sure Don brought something back from Mexico with him - we were fine until he returned. Just order a round of antibiotics for the forum and Dom; hopefully he won't need a bore punch done.

Re: Software update / Downtime October 10th 2013
I'm thinking we are experiencing the same issue from a month or so back when they moved me to new hardware. Looking into it the best I can from remote. Wife and I are currently in route to the house so posting this from the passenger seat.
Trying to be different, just like everyone else.

Symptoms are similar - but I still think Don brought back something from south of the border...
Hope you had an exceptional weekend.

Re: Software update / Downtime October 10th 2013
ok, at the house, made sure my initial trouble ticket went in with the host. Also asked them to check on weather upgrading to VPS hosting would improve matters. Since we are on shared hosting, other accounts that are on the same server can screw with the performance of ours. So If I upgrade to VPS (which I've been thinking about doing for a while anyway) might solve the problems, but at the very least, it gives me direct control of the server processes and I could restart them when they seem to be getting sticky like they are now rather then waiting on someone else to do it.
So, I'm doing what I can to get things moving again. Sorry folks. I can say that the upgrade isn't the cause as I upgraded 3 other forums that I maintain and non of them are having this issue (all with my host as well). So it's something with the specific set of processes that this forum is running on.

1). Don't ever worry about the forum if you're on vacation or hanging with family.
2). If you need a little $ for a separate server, let us know.
3). Let me know if I can do anything to help

Re: Software update / Downtime October 10th 2013
1. I'm an IT guy and if I can't keep my own shit clean, how can I hold my head up ya know? In all reality, we were on our way back to the house anyway, so it was no run, no fuss, no muss. I certainly do appreciate the statement/understanding though.
2. I appreciate the offer, but right now everything is well under control in that dept.
3, I really appreciate that. In the future, I can see it becoming a point where Wayne and myself may need to draw on someone else to play backup in the event that we are both held up due to our full time jobs. When I start to see that becoming a not too distant issue, I'll be sure you are on the list sir. Thanks for volunteering.
As it stands right now, the site seems to be back up and running well. Not sure if my host already jumped on the issue or if what I tried might have jarred things loose. I hit all my sites with a massive load check and then did some things on the hosts backend like installing software to my account via control panel to spike my process load. Everything suddenly stopped and then about a min later, sped up a lot. Checked here and things were moving again. We will see for how long as I have no idea if it was me or the host, lol. Currently waiting to hear from my host on the matter. Either will be a "sorry, we fixed it" note or a nasty-gram for flogging their servers. Either way, the end result right now is to my liking.

Thanks for all the work.
However, couldn't you at least have sent 0Face to his room for a little bit? I understand he was calling you names while you were gone.

Re: Software update / Downtime October 10th 2013
well, as I like to say, I've been called worse by better people. All things being equal, I could have put him in time out for something, but I think that starts the slippery slope to becoming like that other sandbox. It's all fun and games until someone ends up with a perma-ban
Besides, I didn't see any name calling, just the odd promise of him standing outside of my house holding up things for me to shoot at. Which he didn't fulfill so the wife and I had to go to the range today to make up for that, but that's still far from a banning offense.
