I like the black wheels better. Maybe that's because I have the silver wheels on the 08 AE.
I'm not a fan of black wheels, never have been. I'd trade my black for those silver in a heartbeat.
Basically, keeping the wheels clean on all my bikes is a PITA. The silver wheels on my 08AE show every bit of tar, etc.
I feel a wheel swap upcoming with Russ.
If they'll fit I'm all for it!

Good luck Jeff.
Why a 13? The 16, and 17 best colors with no cruise limit.
Is it the 6 speed issue?
You're not looking for ES are you? You may want to have the ability to upgrade it.
Make sure you are careful with the Fragilee plastic and mirror stays.
What are you doing with the 08 Advanced Edition?
Seams like a nice throttle lock would save a lot of money and work.

Hey buddy! I like the 2013 color. I'll get Ivan to fix the cruise control speed limit issue. I didn't want an ES due to expense and extra work to replace the suspension in the future.
For now I'll keep the 2008 AE unless someone approaches me with enough money to pry it away from me. I don't think Trevor would like me to sell it either as we both love it.
I'll ride both bikes for a season and decide what to sell later. The 2013 has all the bells and whistles that my AE has basically. The 2008 AE has an electric shifter and the 2013 has electronic cruise control. The deal on the 2013 was just too good to pass up in my way of thinking.
The 2008 AE is 5 years older and has 30,000 more miles. Still my baby though.
I get it! I bought my '13 used (3rd owner) with 37K miles. The intent was to replace my 140K '07 but I still have it too. It's apart to replace a few tidbits, hopefully someone can use it for entry level into the FJR world. The '13 was well farkled when I got it, only thing I did was add my gps harness and a Kaoko throttle lock. I can (and do) cruise at a little above 82 mph.

Looks like a good load of extras there!!
Did you know the '13 was the only year with the black stripe on the side covers?

34,000 miles. A member of this forum sold it to me and has the option to ride it or any of my bikes whenever he wants. The price was more of a gift among friends. It was quite a deal.

Yeah... That's pretty awesome!

The bike has about every option you could want. I ordered Helibar risers and a power mount for my Garmin Zumo XT. The only other option I could add is lights for the topcase. I will install LED headlight bulbs as they are so inexpensive now.

Thanks for that tidbit Ray! This bike has almost all of the cherished upgrades. I can't wait to show it to you and hear your thoughts on anything else we could do to improve it. It also has a blacked out VStream windshield that seems to work well in the high and low positions. Also the stock shield and a tall VStream windshield.

I'll go this far SkooterG. Tell me what you feel would be a fair price for the bike I bought and I'll tell you if I paid more or less. How 'bout that?

Yes, I'll be there Art. I don't know which bike I'll be on. I'm trying to manage tire life so that the 2013 is ready for tires in June for the California trip.

See you there bud.
Tires are cheap. When you think about all the 2 wheeled therapy time you get out of a set of tires, they are a bargain. So, ride more, and stress less.

Good looking bike, Jeff! Can't wait to see you on it! I vote you ride it to Duane's ride and then SEO and put some new tires on it before Cali

I don't believe there's enough tread left on the rear Dunlop Roadsmart 3's to accomplish that. Let me take a pic of the tire.

I don't think there's a couple thousand miles left on this one. Getting close to the wear bars.
I think I'm going to put a Shinko Raven on the rear of this bike to get me through Tennessee, South Carolina, and SEO.

Plenty of tread left! Just need to make sure there aren't any straight roads

Give it to Wheatie. That is basically a new one to him.

A 'fair' price is a tough thing to determine these days. And is two completely different numbers whether you are the buyer, or the seller. I will say this much: I think used bikes are way overpriced these days. I have no idea if sellers are getting anywhere close to what many of them are asking, but I won't be paying some of the ridiculous prices I see. But that is me. And the reality of the market is that supply is somewhat limited.
As long as you are happy with what you paid that is all that matters. It looks like an excellent example with some great farkles.

For reference. They have the 2013 I traded listed for 8k. It has 88k miles on it.
Good bike but needs suspension work. Rear is worn out.
