I'm late to the party (as usual) and must have missed the narrative regarding the loss of shield.
Details, please?

I think it was shared Via e mail.. I thought you were on the list but I guess Don fergot ya. It nearly blew off In Mo. on the way up. 5 of the six screws holding it broke off.
Luckily Bumstead was looking in his mirrors and seen it flopping.. It's a rather shitty design.

Hola Bret, I normally run three Sombreros and five Mexican flags on the windshield of Naomie Harris 2013 FJR, but unfortunately that overloaded the stock mounting assembly.

So I cut back to just one Sombrero and a single Mexican flag and everything seems to be OK, I just don't understand how HotRodZilla can run an El Toro piñata on his windshield!

Don,
That "warning" sticker on your gas tank appears to be fading.

I believe OM has a bag full of new ones. I doubt he'll part with any but who knows.

Cuz I use the "Mexican" method of supporting and securing my items to my shield. You gotta have protection from the wind ese'.

Honestly, I started this but I trailer my bike all the time, I see no point in wasting 1,000 miles of a 3,000 mile tire that cost $200 on a slab....I would rather trailer and enjoy the fun roads with the bike...not to mention, if I trailer, I can get the wife / kid to drive and I can relax!
I understand the comfort of riding inside a vehicle - and having "designated drivers" along. Anyone who trailers their bike does so for reasons that work for them and "that's a good thing".

But I'm just not following the math on the rest. For a 1000 mile "commute" to a riding event the fuel savings by riding the bike instead of driving the truck is nearly enough to pay for a pair of tires.
And that doesn't factor in the wear on the tires of the truck & trailer...

My bride would rather stay home and dislikes driving, so my situation is different than some.
